- Utah...Mormon land. Mormons claim to be Christians. LOL Must have missed the Prince of Peace part and when Jesus says to Peter, put away your sword. You cannot be a Christian and join up the mass weapons gang. You can claim to be a Christian while serving the Deciever. Jesus said let the little children come unto me. He didn't have a sword or weapon in his cloke.

- It's very obvious what the government has been doing for the past 40 years. "They want the people to be very dependent on them."
If you loose your job, just get food stamps or unemployment. Wives, when you get disgruntled with your husband, just move out and get on welfare. And, what ever you do, don't defend your self and your family, "THE LAW WILL PROTECT YOU." The list goes on and on. The government will keep on pushing its way into total control until the people snap, which usually happens to every government after a time. People weren't created to be under that kind of control or that kind of dependence on government.
The people have taken the bait. Anyone who excepts aid from the government is giving them control. As soon as you sign up for food stamps you might as well sign over your country and your family to these people who claim to be your government. The government teaches your kids, They feed and cloth your parents. Over 50% of all family's end up in divorce and the wife and kids are supported by the government, "IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!!! ((((((Gentlemen,)))))) you've lost your country!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wives, you've lost it as well. You've given up your husbands for a government that wants to kill your children in some off shore war. Or they let them die in some school shooting.
Or lets just let our kids destroy them selves with insane moves or video games, food that's unfit for a pig, or let's just let them sit around all day with no exercise. This is what happens to kids with no father. This is what happens to kids "WITH FATHER'S" but the dad has lost his role as father because, if he acts like a father his wife will move out and take his kids with her, "LEGALLY". GUY'S, YOU'VE LOST YOUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A long time ago. - Reply to this comment
- I teach in Utah. I can think of all sorts of horrible things that can happen with a gun in my classroom. I think this is a very bad idea.

- the fourth hijacked jet, United Airlines Flight 93, [INTENDING TO FLY] into the United States Capitol Building[2] in Washington, D.C.; however, the plane crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after its passengers attempted to take control of the jet from the hijackers.
Lanza shot his way through a locked glass door at the front of the school.[19][20] He was wearing black military-style gear, including a bulletproof vest and mask.[21][22] Some of those present reported that initial shots were heard on the school intercom system, which was being used for morning announcements.[16]
Principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach
immediately left the room and rushed to the source of the sounds and encountered Lanza, who shot both women dead as they confronted him.[23]
Sound familiar? These two women should be heralded as heros. Those so called "first repsonders" did not get there until they were laying cold on the floor.
Training for a riot gun [which BTW would penetrate a IIIA Kevlar vest] : POINT AND CLICK. - Reply to this comment
- hope they get better training than the cops, some kid is going to get shot for pulling out a cell phone or pen.

- It's about flippin' time that teachers were trained to actually protect our kids.
On another note, my 8th grade daughter told me her teacher carries a gun when not at school for her own defense. At least some people are getting the hint. - Reply to this comment
- That's ridiculous, trying to fight fire with fire, all these school shootings are the symptoms of a deep seeded issues embedded into the very fabric of our society and no one is owning up to the fact we are all to blame here. There is a lot of negativity in the way people relate to each other, there's a lot "if that person is going through something its not my business let them deal with it", there's a lot of "survival of the fittest" everyman out for himself attitude. Our country's schools and colleges are a breeding ground for hostility and pain, the social and academic stress are enough to drive even the most mild mannered student insane with self-loathing. The issue is not about gun control obviously, its about why the hell are there so many people messed up enough to do stuff like this in the first place? Not that long ago several teenagers committed suicide because of bullying, and there is a famous pop singer who beat his girlfriend several years ago and he is still socially relevant, don't even get me started on all the child and animal abuse that gos on in this country SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. What we need to do is make the environment less emotionally toxic and it starts at home, people don't go crazy for no reason. Someone you know could be the next to snap, and you can stop them, not with a gun but with love and understanding.

- Why bother to conceal the weapon. Why don't we just have open carry. Wouldn't you feel so much safer getting on an airplane with 150 other people all of them with guns as well as yourself. When you go to the mall everyone over the age of 16 say could have a gun strapped on it could be just like the old west. If you don't like someone you just "call them out" you know kind of like they do in Florida. Malls could have designated areas for gun fights so bystanders didn't get hurt. Maybe then the NRA would be happy although they would probably go to court to get the legal carry age reduced to 10, got to keep selling more guns and bullets.

- The NRA and similar organizatios promoting guns are amazing. Their strategy is to get the discussion off gun control and the movement to ban assault weapons, large clips, etc. and move it to a discussion on arming the school personnel. Let that be argued about instead. Use up the energy of the angry public in that way so any other solutions will be forgotten. Yes, more schools in the future will have weapons available and it might stop psychos if the school is lucky but, at least, any control on guns won't be considered seriously. I give the people who direct the strategies of the NRA, etc. tons of credit. They earn their pay. It is interesting that Ronald Reagan, a conservative held in awe by the GOP, thought more gun control made sense and would be an enemy of the NRA if he was still with us.
