- Lot of interesting comments up in here. True, if the gender were changed, people might be calling "bloody murder"...My hubby just says, for guys, they're just, "young, dumb and full of come."
In my own opinion, social norms, used to call middle age to be around the 30's/40's. Now they say it is around the 50/60's. Yet, our children are getting mature at a younger age, and more "intelligent", on what goes on around the world, be it bad or good. If anything, we tend to confuse our children with, "grow up!" then "you're still a child" We tend to blame others, or the media, etc., peer pressure? You tell your kids, "that is bad for you" or "he/she is not good for you" but they see that, what you say is bad, peers are enjoying. - Reply to this comment

- If this were a man who had sex with 4 15 yr old girls everyone would be out to lynch him. This is just wrong! She gave these hormone-laiden teen boys booze and seduced them. I don't feel she should go to prison but there should be a consequense. Some of you people make me sick!

- Well, first I must say: SUPER-MILF ! When I was 15 - if I had had, say 7 million dollars, I would gladly have swapped the money... But more seriously - is 16 as the age of consent based on any scientific facts, or is it just pulled out of thin air?
What are costs for these 'statutory rape' cases? First police time and time for the work in the court, the costs for keeping a person in jail, the society loses that persons work and tax payments, and then trouble because of the police record. The children are better protected if 'the law' use that time and money to top the floods of drugs - those are the real big threat against the youngsters' health, phyical and mental.
It might as well ruin two persons' lives - or more. 16 is quite a common age, but 15 too, as in Sweden and Denmark. Finland and Norway has 16 but Iceland 14. Do young persons mature 2 years earlier on Iceland? Many countries have higher ages, but then they are strictly religious and sex outside of marriage is considered a felony. Cameroon has the record - there you have to be 21.
Many of the muslim states have no defined age at all - the religious leaders refer to the Quran and the life of the Prophet - and he married Aisha when she was 6 but waited until she was 9 before he consumated the marriage. And offhand people in those countries declare, that a girl can marry as soon as has had her first menstruation.
I will not in any way advocate for children to have sex, but a less rigid approach is something all could benefit from. You often see flexibility in other areas, like when Hollywood stars are cought with drugs, they can get 3 days in jail, but be released after 1 day for good behaviour. Other people with no money or fame can face years in prison.
Throw the book at those who use force, threats, drugs and alcohol so on, but not on relations between consenting partners. I do not think those 4 guys will turn out to be any worse boyfriends or husbands than others, rather the contrary. Because they now know 'from the start' how normal sex between a man and a woman should be.
Quite a lot better than those in latin countries, where it often happens that the father takes them to the local brothel when they turn 15 or 16 or so. And how innocent and white is the soul of a boy in his younger teens, with his computer full of Internet porn? The sex drive is at its strongest the very years when a person isn't allowed to have sex. - Reply to this comment
- i don't know. i'm a guy, and when i was 15 i was trying to have sex with every female i could find. morally, the way i see it, this woman is what is known as a "practice girl", and was providing a valuable service to the community.
