- I have a different take on this issue. Tipping is not something that should always be done. Tipping started as a 'thank you' for good service. As time has gone on, now everyone in the service industry expects to be tipped. Even bad service gets tipped today.
Now, just because this guy didn't get a tip was no reason for him to act as he did. If that was his first reaction to this situation, then he deserved to NOT be tipped. He is obviously not a nice person.
In the big scheme of things, though the woman did not have the money to tip him, he still technically got paid for delivering the pizza (though it was a small amount of money). It is his job to do that.
To always assume you will get a tip is wrong . . . and if he was a good man he would have realized that the next tip may have been a much larger one - in the end it all evens out. His behavior cost him his job - and now he has nothing coming in. Sometimes we just have to 'rise above' what is happening in our lives and be grateful for what we have. - Reply to this comment

- The idiot deserved it. If she couldn't afford a tip, DON'T ORDER DELIVERY. It's called karma-her fault.

- I think this is quite funny. I hope the driver becomes famous and gets his own talk show. He ought to be a guest on Letterman.

- Of course, he shouldn't have peed on her doorstep. But, if she didn't have money to tip (I mean a buck, come one!), she shouldn't have ordered delivery. In our society tipping is part of the deal. If you can't afford one, don't dine out. She should have got off her arse and picked up the pizza and brought it home.

- If she didn't have enough money for a tip, she should have offered a sexual favor. That wouldn't have cost her anything.

- People can't live on the salary a pizza delivery job pays. The companies know that, and so they pay nothing and expect the customers to make up the difference. I understand the frustration of the delivery guy, but I don't excuse his actions.

- I know people live off their tips but to pee on someones door is simply GROSS. However on the flip side if you can't offer a monetary tip offer something. My husband is a delivery driver and some people can't afford to tip him so they give him homemade goodies. Granted it doesn't help financially but it shows appreciation. Also don't get me wrong I'm not saying make it a habit, or do this when you go out to eat its a one time deal kinda thing.

- She should have ordered a medium pizza, rather than her usual x-large. She would have had money left over for a tip.

- The apartment manager said you could see the delivery guy "doing his duty". At least it wasn't "doody". 'Sorry.
