This is insane this SOB knew what he/she was doing.. There a lot we don't know about the remains of this poor young girl... it matters a lot in order for the FBI to be accurit ... where she was placed / how she was placed means so much to the FBI agents working this case.. If there wasn't an animal involved holy ****!! I don't think this was the first time for these unsubs ... tuns of rage ...

I read that the little girl's body was not intact and was unidentifiable, this sounds like she was attacked by an animal and not a human. Whatever happened to this child it is horrific, my prayers go out to the family.

Looking at the abduction place and its curvy streets and the not-easy-to-get-to places where the backpack and body were left - it is clearly a local. Whether things were staged by a monster who took pride in his work and wanted people to see it - or whether is was done by a frenzied, unsophisticated murderer who did not have extra time to drive up into the mountains to dispose of the backpack and body forever in some ravine - we shall soon find out. But it's a local.

Life can be very difficult for a single mom. Not everyone has the means to conduct their life according to your standards. Obviously, there's little compassion taught in your church for your fellow man. Perhaps you need to read the teachings of Jesus for yourself.

Brazil has a wonderful punishment for rapist and such..They are chemically castrated...PERIOD. Pedophilia and rape are driven by lust are they not..Remove the ability to act upon that lust and the problem is solved. Don't even tell me that it is inhumane..think of the problems and the actions of these people that would be prevented. Allowing them to continue to persue their fantasies is the most inhumane thing of all..Is it not.

Lerianis4, your comments are not just totally misinformed, but are downright frightening as well.

You know better than the experts why people rape? And how is that?

You *really* think we should make pedophilia legal and that would protect our children?

And if you *really* "told my daughters I didn't give a crap who they met with or had sex with (put them on the pill after their first periods) but didn't want any details", you should be arrested for child endangerment.

This article says the body was "not intact" but I saw another report on this that said identification of the body took as long as it did because "parts were missing."

I know it seems like that's splitting hairs, but it really isn't. If somebody killed you and then chopped off your head or your hands or whatever, and left them with the rest of your body, your body would not be "intact" a but parts would not be "missing."

The person that did this to Jessica obviously wanted to make sure that her body, when found, would not be able to be identified right away.

Poor girl and family. How awful. It scares the crud out of me for my 12 year old.

This breaks my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I can only imagine what they must be going through. I hope they catch the beast that did this to her very soon.
