He probably weighed over half that much when he first went to prison, but sitting around for 25 years eating Twinkies and taco chips is what caused his weight to double. That's the trouble with keeping these murderers alive all these years. They get fat and lazy, and then they use that as an excuse to avoid execution. The only state in this country that doesn't fool around with these killers is Virginia. In Virginia the average time on death row is 7 years. Even in Texas, which leads the country in number of executions, the average time on death row is about 15 years. If they'd execute these guys like Virginia does in 7 years, they wouldn't have time to get fat.

Too bad. Wonder whether his victim felt any pain. Weight and his potential pain have NOTHING to do with cruel and unusual. Guess he should have thought about this since the 80's. Bye Bye

Killing a person is not going to bring your loved ones back - it is not anything other than revenge. It is illegal for a citizen to kill someone who murdered someone they loved yet its ok for the government to kill when and where they see fit. ABOLISH this archaic and barbaric tradition in this country. How many innocent people have already been put to death? The government will tell you none have - however lets look at how many innocent people have been released from death row across the country in the past 20 or so years. Now in every instance the survivors of the murdered victims wanted that particular inmate to die for the crime because some prosecutor convinced them that that particular inmate was responsible. Open your eyes people. Prosecutors who spout on about 98 and higher conviction rates are NOT doing their jobs. basic understanding of statistics emphatically tell us that this is an impossibility. No one is infalable. We as the citezenry of this great nation need to band together and fix our justice system.

thank you for the comments. i am one of the family members of helen vantz that ron post murdered. we have waited 30 years for this. its due time for this execution. i agree, what kind of system does ohio have to leave him sit for 30 years while we feed and cloth him. its a damn shame. he planned it, murdered her in cold blood then sat here alive for all this time. ITS TIME FOR HIM TO GO .....TO HELL
