It's very sad and tragic. It's maybe better he died, because if he was a decent person how could he live with it, even if it wasn't his fault.

Mild mannered men would rather sleep in the streets than in a homeless shelter. Gangs dominate the shelters and rob the weak of their welfare checks. Poppo feared the shelter environment, he wanted to keep his meager belongings.

Whatever these guys took, looks like it was contaminated with the "walking dead" bug when it was cut. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Apocalypse started in a meth trailer out in a South Central Florida swamp.
