- The photos CBS is using shows subtle bias. They show the victim in a t-shirt and black knit cap as though he were a criminal next to a photo of the shooter in a suit and tie. Photo journalism doesn't get more biased than that.

- I have reserved judgment on this tragedy until more facts are known. And the likes of Al Sharpton spewing lies about what took place is not helping the parents of this young mans case.

- Martin:
1. no juvenile record and had never been arrested.
2. investigated in October after a school police officer found women's jewelry in his backpack, but the jewelry did NOT match any that had been reported stolen.
3. was serving a school suspension after police there found a plastic bag with traces of marijuana in it in his backpack.
George Zimmerman:
1. was arrested in July 2005 on charges of felony resisting arrest with violence and battery on a police officer. (The charges were reduced to a single misdemeanor and eventually dropped.)
2. ex-fiancee filed a temporary order of protection against him. The order was lifted in August 2006.

Ok, and so which one of these guys do you think was ACTUALLY using "self-defense" if there was in fact a struggle? The occasional pot smoking kid or the violent guy who was charged with battery on a cop and had a protection order on him from an ex-fiance.

- George Zimmerman is a murderer. He shot and killed an unarmed kid as the boy was walking home. George Zimmerman was told by the 911 dispatcher to stand down and let the police deal with whatever was bugging Zimmerman with respect to a "suspicious" person. Zimmerman didn't obey the dispatcher. He pursued Martin and killed him, seemingly to make himself feel better. Zimmerman needs to be arrested, charged, indicted and have a trial. But the local police and state law enforcement officials are either too corrupt, too racist, too incompetent or just plain stupid to plug their leaks and do their job. It's a sad day for Florida, but it will be the racist, damngerous label for Florida for a long time if Zimmerman gets away with this. without so much as a slap on the wrist.
It's a shame the pop media is making this into a story with "witness" interviews before any proper investigation is done. Unfortunately, some media are using this crime as a way to sell soap and investment services rather than pursue the truth. There needs to be a court action soon with a judge who will put a stop to this crap and get statements and evidence on the record for use in a presentment to a grand jury. - Reply to this comment
- What's said is that any neighborhood in America needs a community watch. It shows that crime rules and that local citizens are fearful for their lives and property.

- "Zimmerman's father says he does not believe the girl's story." Wouldn't phone records simply prove or disprove "What We Know," rather than what Zimmerman's dad "believes?"

- This is not a witch hunt, your imagination is getting the best of you. OMG, let's see, GZ has a documented history of agression and 3 priors that lawyer, jugde magistrate got him off of, one being a felony. He had issues with his own community scaring home owners. He was a COP want to be....he was told to not pursue, the bilaws of the community stated no pursuits, no weapons....Trayvon WAS 70 feet from his front door. I guess if someone attacked you - you wouldn't resist and may even want to be hurt....if you were killed no would care enough to remember you. Your parents and friends would shrug you off and may even be glad to rid of you. I know I would.

- Balanced report. Some facts to note: the screams abruptly stopped when the gunshot was heard on the 911 tape; there was no visible blood on Mr. Zimmerman clothes in the police videotape despite Mr. Zimmerman's claims that Mr. Martin was on top of him, beating him, breaking his nose, banging his head on the concrete, when he shot Mr. Martin in the chest; the young 12/13 year old 'eyewitness' widely reported in the press, now claims he was pressured to make those statements and his mother backs that up; police are quoted by a bystander at the scene that they did not see this shooting as a case of 'self-defense' and that they wanted to arrest him; there is no explanation to date from Mr. Zimmerman as to 'why' (when directly asked not to follow Mr. Martin by police) he left his vehicle to walk around subsequent to being allegedly attacked;if the voice analysis determines the screams were Mr. Martin's then the claims of Mr. Zimmerman will not backed up by the available evidence; the time frame from Mr. Zimmerman's call to police and the shooting is just six minutes.

- As part of the order, Zimmerman was prohibited from having a firearm or ammunition. The order was lifted in August 2006.
