- Why didn't they do more investigating to begin with?? If that had been a policeman who did the shooting he would have been put on administrative leave and an investigation started even tho he may have been doing his job. This guy sounds like a he has a few screws loose.

- Who turned loose the lynch mob? "Zimmie" hasn't even been charged with a crime and "the mob" has him convicted. Ever heard of a fair trial? This is the USA not Iran or N. Korea.

- Zimmerman needs to face the consequences of his actions! He's not a cop, defending your own home with a gun is one thing, but running around the neighbor hood playing superhero isn't necessary! That's why we have the police! The neighborhood that this happened in wasn't a ghetto, wasn't overrun by crime, so why was he packin?
I totally support the family in this! Don't brush it under the rug and ok it because it MIGHT fit under a law. Maybe he used the law as a cover just to get away with shooting a black! - Reply to this comment
- The shooter had his nose broken and head bloodied. He was attacked by a teenager who was an athletic and fit man attacking a fat out of shape man doing a community service. He called 911 to report suspicious activity and he was suspicious of blacks and probably some other minorities because he had constantly and repeatedly observed them committing crimes against his community. The sign on the community says we will report suspicious activity to the police and he did - time after time because there is a LOT of crime there. The kid was probably trying to impress his gal pal who was on the phone. He died for his mistake. It is unfortunate. The LAW says if a punk kid attacks you in a place you have a right to be and breaks your face and is on top of you beating you so you are yelling for help and fear for your life - you can SHOOT the attacker. We dont have to let the little thugs beat us up. We can shoot them. The kid thought he had an advantage - he did not. The media is biased showing out of date photos of a child - the dead man was an athlete and in good shape not a little innocent child. The shooter was also a minority. This is all about GUN CONTROL and money. The shooters life has already been ruined so he lost too. He did not break the LAW. The dead man had been expelled from school - why does the media not explain what for ? That is relevant. You dont get expelled from school unless you have some discipline and authority issues.

- You mean he hasn't lost his permit yet? It's very scary to me to think that a guy who murders someone, and then confesses to it, is not only still free, but is still permitted to carry a firearm...

- Where is a up to date photo of Zimmerman? The photo of Martin on Fox News was an old photo also. Looks like someone is hiding the whole truth. The kid shot was not a baby he was a grown teenager. Show a photo of the real Trayron Martin. What are you hiding?

- The vigilante law involved with this case is just one more reminder of far right extremists intention to destroy everything it means to be American (while claiming to be more patriotic and Christian).
The vigilante law allowing Zimmerman to be free eliminates the entire idea of "innocent until proven guilty." Anyone can be judge, jury, and executioner if they feel threatened (or apparently even if they track someone down looking for a confrontation).
How long can we sit back and watch far right extremists pass vigilante laws, attack women's rights, pass massive tax cuts for the rich, allow our financial communities to rape and pillage, attack the separation of church and state, deny citizens health insurance, invade countries on lies, deny prisoners of war protection under the Geneva Convention, etc., etc.
The Trayvon Martin case is one more example to the world how insane far right politics have become in our country. We need to start repealing the bizarre laws passed by these far right extremists and we need to vote them out of every elected office. - Reply to this comment
- The first four voices here are appalling in their willingness to let this sort of violence continue. It might be years down the road, but Zimmerman will show his murderous inclinations again. No one mentions the age factor in all the charges of racism-- I suspect that his hostile suspicion latched onto his victim's youth as well as the color of the skin. This is a person who was looking for an excuse to use that weapon. And this is the sort of person who is a great danger on a police force or in the military. The 50 calls to 911 should be a sufficient proof of mental instability for the gov to revoke the gun permit, and the pistol should be in police custody already (is it?).

- And he wasn't arrested immediately because?...someone help me here, please. We're talking about taking his gun away? Really? If Zimmerman was black would he be in jail now? Answer honestly.
The man was ordered to not pursue, he does anyway. He is still free. If this had happened in the Northeast, would he still be free? Answer me, honestly.
Cuff him now. Charge him now. No bail. Give him a good lawyer, give him a fair trial. Now.
Welcome to Florida and its Wild West Show. Guns and gun fights for all! Woohoo! - Reply to this comment
- Once his permit is revoked, he will feel the full brunt of his crime, He will walk the streets unarmed, waiting for someone with a gun, hunting, to catch him alone...... and then claim self defense.
My guess is he will be indicted by the grand jury, and if not found guilty,,, will have to leave Florida...
He will not be forgotten.
If he goes to prison.. well there will be a lot of folks waiting to make his acquaintance, especially Bubba! - Reply to this comment
