- So sad to read about this story. The abject stupidity and cruelty involved is heartbreaking. I'm sorry, Savannah: you deserved MUCH BETTER in life than what you got. I hope both Grandmother and stepmother receive the maximum punishment allowed by law. It's still not enough for literally forcing you to run to DEATH. How inhumanly cruel can you be?

- What can you say what can anyone say . I say some people should be sterilized and male and female . They are not good for breeding children and always caused great suffering and often death as in this case.
Imagine these two women telling a little girl you must run for 3 hours and not stop because you lied about a candy bar.
Forget all this mamby pamby crap about rights , I say these two women should be hanged from the nearest oak tree.

- All of the signs that the poor girl's stepmother was crazy were there. How could her father trust her with his kid, when he'd already accused her of taking off with their other one? Now she's going to claim insanity to get off, and the whole thing could've been prevented. I'll bet he wishes he'd followed through with the divorce now...
