- It wasn't their property, it wasn't their home, she wasn't anything to them, but someone to rob and who know's what else.
In my book, she did the right thing. Trust me, they/he would have killed her if needed. No one has the right to take what is yours, must less enter "your" home. She was a mama bear protecting her cub and the wolf lost in the end. - Reply to this comment
- Had three burglers once, in the past 20 years, late at night heard the three whispering , out front. Grabbed my guns, turned on the front light, went out the back door, they was running up the road. Shot off a few rounds into the ground. Never had a burgler since.

- This dumb liberal headline makes it sound like the State is doing her some kind of a FAVOR. She should get a medal.

- Among other things, if you listen to the tape of the call to 911, you don't hear the sound of anyone trying to get in! And, no matter what New World Order quislings try to say, you are responsible only for the death of someone you intended a threat to, not someone tangentially associated with you. And even at that, if a corporation fires an employee after decades, a day before their pension becomes due and the emplpoyee gets drunk and drives off the road, will the corporation be held responsible? How many suicides were the executives of Enron, Tyco and Global Crossing; or those who cooperated in the "sub prime" loan debacle; or such as Bernie Madoff held responsible for? And, consider, if it's so legitimate to kill someone who hadn't even done you harm, who just entered your house, where were those who defend Sarah McKinley when those who fought against U.S. troops who invaded Iraq to steal it for the corporations were referred to as "terrorists"?

Well, here is one of those "idiots." I am pro-choice, I voted for Obama and will again, I support gay rights and guess what?? I am sorry this girl was forced into defending herself with a gun, but I am SO glad that she had one to defend herself (and her baby) with, and I am very glad she had the nerve to use it. Bad story with a good ending. Mother and baby are safe. :o) - Reply to this comment
- You made me proud. I am sorry that the intruder put you in the position in which the right thing for you to do was to shoot someone in defense of your family. Sleep well at night with a clear conscience knowing you did the right thing for everyone.

- The law that states a homeowner or business owner who kills an intruder must be able to prove they feared for their lives is the most ridiculous law in the books.
This thug was obviously hell-bent and determined to gain entry to this home if it took him almost 20 minutes to get inside.
You almost have to ask the intruder if they are armed or having the intention of killing you once they gain entry.
In the meantime, this thug could slice you up and be in the next county by the time the police get there.
Where in the hell were the police for the 20 minutes this young woman was on the phone with 911.?
I'm greatful she was able to protect her baby and herself.
No homeowner or business owner should ever be prosecuted for defending themselves even if it involves the death of the intruder/s who are killed. - Reply to this comment

- This is one of those few instances where the law and justice coincide.
