- all this commotion in the world isnt even callled for and they know it that yoiung man did not diserve too die over no bull crapt and they all know it yall kidd fikghtin over sum dumb stuff and took the life of a innocent person who had'nt done anything if i have anything too say those boys deserve everything they get because they dont know what his family is goin through too this day and its not fair and i know they wouldnt like it if anything like that happened too someone in their family....you should think before you act

- even though the video help put those boys in prison, the person that was taking the video could of help Derrion. Instead of taking a video of a boy being beating to death he could of use that cell phone and called the police and at the end of the video i heard him laughing like it was funny that i boy was being killed by gang members. It was so many people out there that could of help Derrion, even the people that was in their cars and the people that jumped Derrion are punks for jumping someone because i always think that if you want to fight someone just go one on one but these people wanted to jump the poor kid. i was also wondering where was the police at this time, if the police was over there Derrion wouldn't have die. i feel so sad when i saw that video and i also felt confuse because it was so so many people out there that could of help Derrion but they didn't. i understand how Derrion parents feels because my uncle was killed by violence and it was so sad because he had children. people really need to stop black on black crime because if we don't the world might end. - I think that this is very, very crazy wat happen to Derrion Albert. Most of all it's not just goin on in the chicago area only it's everywhere in america. The parents of these children need to have one on one time with there kids. Also i think that Godshould be put back into our schools. With someone speakin about him kids would have some type of direction in there life. It's just good that someone was there to record wat happen to him. my condolenses to the family, and they deffinitly will be in my prayers. Most of all we have to give our younger generation some type of direction. It's not snitchin if ur helpin someone's life... Just think about if it were ur child. young people talk about the code in the streets, but they don't even know wat the code is because it's not what it used to be...
Just Something to think about...A poem by myself...I'm feeling the stress on my brain, living this life things is hard, like a rapper tryn'a get in the game, but i still keep my head up and pray to God again and again, no matter wat, spillin my guts, goin for wats wat, 100 talk is what i do, but this killing is easy, so now let's try bein true, you see i have a Godson named True, that has to row up and be a man oneday, so all i ask is, can we stop all of the gun play, and the dumb things, children seeing there people's die, people's seein there seeds die, right before there eyes, but somebody has to speak again, but not just actually speak actually put the action in, like raising our young boys into grown men....

- This is beyond sad. I have a few points. Derrion seemed to me that he walked right into this, he was,nt walking home to catch a bus, where was his books? It evens seems that he punched a kid before he got hit. I think he used VERY POOR JUDGEMENT that day. The video depicts that. I will pray for his family. So sensless.....

- For all the people who were at the Youth center when Derrion was killed should be charged with accessory after the fact and the people who was videotaping it should be charged too. Maybe charging them will make people think if you witness a crime and do nothing, Your aiding and abetting a criminal and you should be held accountable for your nonaction and your just as guilty as the ones who killed that people who killed Derrion.

- When I first heard of this story a few days ago I thought a few kids just jumped him and beat him. I didnt realize it was a mini riot going on. What was that all about?

- This is gross and innapropriate behavior. This video clearly shows that parents are not speaking to their children. Why in the hell would your child think its ok to run around the streets with a large wooden plank hitting anyone. Why the hell is it that the other kids did not leave the scene, instead these kids are standing around watching. I was always told by mother if something goes down in the street dont follow the crowd leave and go home. I wish that Derrion wasnt there along with all the other kids. Why did no one call the police and where were all the adults and drivers who could have gotten out of their car to help or called someone. Why is it that our kids are soooooo comfortable with this behavior, with hurting each other. Why the hell is it that parents who live in urban Chicago and know the streets do not talk to their kids daily about staying out of trouble. Im dissapointed in everyone and this is shameful. All the protesting and commentary in the world will not work if individual parents dont sit their kids down at home and talk to them about staying out of this mess. All these kids have lack of parenting, then when its over everyone wants to talk about how their kids are good and this is not like them and everyone was innocent. If your child was in that video for more than 1 minute you have failed as a parent this time , now what will you do next time!????

- When I was watching the CBS Morning News on the story of President Obama trying to get the Olympics in Chicago, one of the correspondents said that Derrion Albert was attacked because he wouldn't join a gang....where in the world did he get that information from? Derrion was headed to a bus stop to go home, got hit in the head with a 2 by 4 and beaten to death. This is one of those "wrong place at the wrong time" situation. I think CBS should stop reporting certain news stories if they're not going to do their research.
