In my opinion, I think that once you become a sex offender you should never be let out of prison in the first place Because you let them out and they will just go find another victim. Its like you are just letting them do it again to innocent people and also their familys.Their familys suffer just as much. People do not deserve being kiddnapped, raped, or violently treated. For Phiilip and Nancy. I think they should be sentenced to life in prison..no chances to do anything in prison. Not be let out of their cells for even an hour a day. They did what they did and need to be prepared for what concequences they get. If they didnt want to suffer then they should have thought about the things they have done. Oh and Nancy was apart of it too. She knew everything that was going on. She is NOT innocent! She was involved as much as Phiilip was.She knew he was doing wrongful things to Jaycee. If she was a good person she would have took Jaycee and left and went to the police. But thats where she messed up. Now Jaycee has two daughters fathered by that gross sex offender. She didnt get a say in anything. Maybe she wanted to save herself and find the right guy for her children when the time was right...but all that was taken from her in the blink of an eye. 18 years of her life where taken. She was controlled and trapped every min of her 18 years. I know she will never fully recover from this awful thing that became part of her life but Now we know she is safe with her family and she is away from those disgusting people who took those 18 years away from her. And for her children I hope he best of luck for them. They will do the best they can to over come someof this...i wish them all luck!

Has anyone else heard that in 1991 when this kidnapping happened the girls father/stepfather was accused and then cleared, but!!! he had seen a car that he thought might have taken his daughter and given a discription to the police that was never looked into! The police also NEVER looked into all of the pedophiles in the area. I'm sorry, well actually im not, but if anyone out there thinks that pedifiles should be treated like everyone else and have "normal rights" theyre wrong. Im not talking about people who are wrongly accused, but if youve made a "mistake", which i think is bull, you're one the list and you get searched. This girl could have been found years ago but a mixture of "rights" and police laziness prevented that. Believe me i know that theyre are some excellent police officers working hard to protect the rights of American citizens but in this case like too many others they have failed us, and dont give me that nobodys perfect crap theyre paid to check these things out

So much to say..This guy needs to be killed. I don't care what they say. Killed in the cruelest way. His wife..no, I think she's innocent.

But just for a moment..think about Jaycee. Imagine a 11-year girl waiting at a bus stop. Then imagine a car driving up and snatching her. Then, a month later, imagine her getting raped the first time, and her screaming and crying and begging....

...That is why he should be killed.

Has anyone commented on the children of this man. I agree he is a sick person. But he did bring two children into the world, or we think he did. The best interest of those children should be brought into consideration. I personally do not know that death to this horrible man would be right - and only becuase he has two children involved. I do not think he should have contact, but they need time to grow up, deal, and ask him why. If we kill him, we take that away.

First I guess i want to ask why he was not on the hottest list ever fro taking this poor little girl? I know why he was let go. look in thwe mirror you liberals.. that's why. second i want to know why he was let out of the first time. again look in mirror you liberals. third I want Bill Gates to do something for this family instead of taking care of Africa's problems. next i want all of you to watch Catch a predator on msnbc and pay attention to what happens to these scum bag who try and make contact with young girls and boys. they show the sentencing at end of show. you'll be shocked , even you liberals who think they deserve another shot in life. They need to be all removed from this planet. No excuses . send them to hell where they can can rott . This makes me sick to my heart aches and my blood wnats to see him and his wife fry. what a sick SOB.

Adding... while repulsed and angry as we all should be feeling by this, I hope others recognize the good that can come from a long lengthy trial. the failures in the system that should have protected Jaycee and actually enabled Garrido's should be analyzed over and over again in an open court of law so that they can be highlighted for all of us to see and hopefully protect others who are too victims of a poorly functioning judicial system that enabled the Garrido's to continue in their evil ways. All my best to Jaycee, her daughters and her family as they reunite and begin the long lengthy road to healing.

people need to be possitive and not look for revenge. i learned the best thing to do(which is very hard) is pray for your enemys. you will be blessed for it even if your heart isnt fully into it.

I agree with everyonesxwife. Kidnapping, rape and impregnating a 14-year old are nothing compared to how this man and his wife destroyed Jaycee's life little by little, day by day and made her completely dependent on them, as any 11-year old would be. Children are very intimidated by adults - they KNOW they can't take care of themselves. There are bad people in the world and then there are EVIL people in the world. They should be imprisoned with no possibility of parole for the rest of their lives at the very least.

This is a "worst-case-scenario" case.
This guy and his wife should be put to death using one of the biblical tortures like The One-Thousand Cuts or The Brazen Bull.

Combining religious abuse with sexual abuse is one of the absolute worst forms of child abuse imaginable - and I speak from personal experience.
This young woman and her children will NEVER have even a semblance of a "normal" life.
She considers this man as her husband and her children consider him as their father.
He has twisted their minds into little jello molds to suit him and they will spend the rest of their lives finding out that each little thing that they were taught was a lie.
Each and every day they will learn something new that they thought was "normal" is obscene or grotesque or that something they were taught was wrong or "a sin" is routine and "okay".

For once I hope our justice system will stand firm and make these people SUFFER for the rest of their lives. Why doesn't our court system treat everyone as evil as Charles Manson just like Charles Manson???
Lock them away and throw away the key - for good!
