I'm sorry, but I think this whole story is made up....No self-respecting parent would post such trash....If in fact it is true, then you are negligent big time for not being more vigilant about what or who is hiding in your home....Very suspicious if you ask me....

She needs to have major psychological evaluation to determine if she could ever be released back into society. One year is not enough for this crime.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some people can never be rehabilitated, and I believe she is one of them.....Maybe she should be roasted on a slow-turning spit over a bon fire, so we could relish in her screams for help.....
This is one of those people that we will see in the news in the future. Behavior like this NOW is big flashing red warning sign of whats to come.
This person is clearly a psychopath. After her release from prison she should be committed to a mental institution and not released until a psychiatric review board can agree that she is no longer a danger to society. That may take 30 or 40 years or more.
She needs more than jail time. She needs her head examined.
And her parents should be investigated as well. The way a
child turns out is a direct result of their environment and
hereditary conditions.
She is a future killer for sure. Keep her off the streets!
There are homeless people in NYC who do just that. Perhaps if the animals rights idiots would spend their money on fighting homelessness or on our schools rather than on the cause of cats and dogs this country would be a better place.
UNDERSTAND THIS:
**IF YOU ARE AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST YOU ARE A SOCIETAL DEGENERATE**
....How much of an idiot are you?
by summarex July 19, 2009 12:33 PM EDT
Well let's see
She lives in the Bronx and probably not in the nice part. She gets bombarded with animals rights nonsense from the likes of rich musicians and actors. She hears about how thousands of dollars are spent on surgery or cats and dogs. She sees how a black football player's career is destroyed because he dares to fight pit bulls. Maybe this is her way of saying that she's just fed up with idiots like you. If so, then support her position.
Oh, the poor baby. Of course, the poor little **** had no other choice but to brutally murder an innocent creature.
Cry me a river. Lots of people have rough childhoods, and they don't behave like monsters.
Get your head out of your ass, pal!
by fcs25 July 19, 2009 12:28 PM EDT
Of course she has no remorse what would you expect from such a pig without morals or the brain power to tie a pair of shoes.
Everything has a positive side. This serves to annoy and offend the hell out of the half wits of our time, the animal rights activists.
You go girl!
HOW CAN WE JUDGE HER ?
The article does not go into her background, what she suffered, what kind of parenting she had or lacked. Was she abused in school by teachers ? We can only guess. This was a CALL FOR HELP. What does society do ? We need to be proACTIve , not proPuNisHMENT. We need to DIALOGUE not just BLAME her and turn our heads away. For too Long kids have been left on their own, with no CULTurAL understanding, no judgment relish with understanding and a commitment to help, not blame.
PUNISHMENT IS NEVER THE ANSWER.
NO PERSON HAS BEEN HELPED BY JAIL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. SHE KILLS A CAT, A CALL FOR HELP, AND WE PUNISH HER BECAUSE SHE STICKS HER TONGUE OUT AT A REPORTER ???
Animal Acitivists have killled people. what she did was not right, but it does not mean she is a bad person.
"HOW CAN WE JUDGE HER ?"
Well, let's see:
She burned an innocent little kitten to death
She shows no remorse for her actions.
So, I can easily judge her to be an evil monster who deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison.
There's no excuse. At all.
"PUNISHMENT IS NEVER THE ANSWER."
The hell it isn't. She is a clear danger to society, and needs to be locked up for the protection of others. Next time, it might be a child she decides to burn to death, sweetheart.
"NO PERSON HAS BEEN HELPED BY JAIL."
She's obviously beyond help, genius. She doesn't need help; she needs to be locked up so she can't kill any more innocent beings.
Thousands of dead Iraqis, thousands of Americans made homeless through foreclosure, millions of American terrified that their next illness could destroy them financially, and we get fed stories about roasted cats.
Find the media criminals, smoke them out and roast them along with the cats.
This WAS A CALL FOR HELP. PUNISHMENT IS NOT THE ANSWER !
I am supportive of this young girl, who most probably has been abused by a socialal and sociatal sysem that has degraded her, and her talents. This was obviously a call for help, she herself is the young kitten, and thus the object of abuse in her mind. That is why there is no remorse, not until All of Society, apologises to her and her friend, and try to make things whole with some type of educational funds, stipends and professonal help. Not jail. Punishment is never the answer to any crime. Understanding and DIALOGUE are the bedrock fortress that will HEAL, so that we can all move on.
And you know this how? If you read her background story that was first given, her family particularly her brother are very supportive and insist she is a good person. More than abused I would say she is spoiled rotten.
Isn't it just a bit presumptuous to assume she has an abusive family or was "neglected by Society." On what do you base this assumption? Was she crying for help when she kidnapped a dog for ransom and tortured the owners by telling them she may not return it? Was she crying for help when she assaulted her friend? Was she crying for help when she did armed robbery? Wake up and recognize an incorrigible criminal when you see one. You may want to make her your friend, but after the knife is sticking in your back, don't bother crying for help because she is such and poor little thing.
Also, She got off easily because they are not blaming her for the actual murder just an accessory to the girl who allegedly actually put the cat in the oven. I don't believe this for a second. Earlier reports talked about how she bragged how she put the kitten in the oven. I think the attorneys got together and agreed to pin the actual placement on the younger teen because she would be tried as a juvenile and would get off more easily while Cherry could have been tried as an adult and would have received a harsher penalty.
"Hamiltongrad", you said are "supportive of this young girl, who most probably has been abused by a socialal and sociatal system (spell check please) that has degraded her, and her talents.."
*What "talents does Cheyenne Cherry have? Torturing/roasting kittens in an oven, then saying it was a "joke" and "its dead *****"?
Then you go on to say: "This was an obvious call for help..".
*Yes, it was a cry for help; as the helpless kitten cried and tried to claw her way out of the 500 degree oven, that Cherry was roasting her in!
Then you go on to say: "she herself is the young kitten, and this the object of abuse in her mind. That is why there is no remorse, not until All of Society apologises to her and her friend.."
*Yeah, right! "All of Society" is supposed to apologize to a sociopathic deranged kitten roasting/killer (and her criminal friend), who said roasting the kitten was a "joke", and "its dead *****!". I've got news for you, "hamiltongrad". Don't hold your breath, (or crawl into a hot oven), waiting for "an apology from society".
Then you go on to say: "not until All of Society apologises to her and her friend, and try to make things whole with some type of educational funds, stipends and professional help."
*What you, "hamiltongrad" are saying is that: "Society" is suppossed to reward Cherry, the sociopathic kitten killer's deplorable behavior, by giving her "some type of educational funds, stipends and professional help"? Dream on!!!!! Cherry has gotten her "just rewards", JAIL TIME!
Then you say: "Punishment is never the answer to any crime."
*Oh really? Why did a poor helpless innocent kitten, suffer the cruel "punishment" of being roasted alive, at the hands of Cheyenne Cherry, of whom you are so "supportive"?
Quite frankly "hamiltongrad", I for one, have had enough of your bleeding heart drivel, blaming society for the cruel crimes of sociopathic kitten killer Cheyenne Cherry!
And furthermore, don't they teach English and spelling at Hamilton?
When I think of this poor, sweet little kitty's final minutes, how unimaginably scared and panicked he must have been...to have an oven door closed on him, the heat turned up full blast, with no way to escape, scratching & cleaning, crying out for help... I fell so sad and angry. No one answered his cries and the door remained shut. What a horrible, horrible way to die for any animal. Some have commented that some pet owners and animal activists care more about pets than they do people. Well, cats and dogs love their owners uncoditionally and are loyal. They don't say mean things to you that can never be taken back. They always love you uncoditionally, no matter what. Are we so arrogant to think that we are that much better than them or that they are not deserving of better treatment than THIS?
If this young woman and her friend had realized they made a mistake and opened the door, I sould probably have some degree of forgiveness in me. If they had decided that the cries were too much and got to them, and opened the door and tried to call emergency to save him, I would have some degree of forgiveness in me. But to say that they couldn't stand to hear the cries so they left the room to relief THEIR discomfort - really mages me angry. Moreover, even if they had later expressed remorse and said, "I did a very bad thing. I was wrong. I am so sorry the pain I caused this animal and to it's owner", I would probably have some degree of compassion in me. But none of this took place. Instead the young woman defiantly says "it's dead B_tch" in court to animal activists who were rightfully protesting this horrific and unthinkable act of cruelty. One year is not enough and is not going to change this young woman. The fact that this is not the first incident of animal abuse, is a MAJOR RED FLAG. "I hate cats", is a MAJOR RED FLAG. I know people who dodn;t like cats, but they don;t go around torcheing and killing them as a "joke". Gee, funny joke. This woman needs to go to jail for much longer than one year, but also needs EXTENSIVE PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION AND TREATMENT. Otherwise, she will come out even angrier than ever, and likely will progress to kiliing humans.
To the poor little kitty and her owner - I am so sad and sorry for your pain and suffering that was totally pointless and cruel. I hope you both can find peace, somehow, some way.
May this sorry excuse of young womanhood be plagued forever with never-ending nightmares of this poor, tiny, defenseless, kitten in her last moments of life, screaming out in pain, pleading for its life! Nothing else is good enough for this selfish, self-centered human female!
Unfortunately, by the many comments, it is obvious that this girl isn't the only sick individual by long shot. Many of you sound as bad as this girl. This girl is a mental case, obviously. She needs a lot more than just a year in jail. She needs to be away from society and she needs some kind of help in the mental illness area. That being said, so do many of you with your knee-jerk stupidity.
