- Morality? How about you keep your morality to yourself and not judge those of others. What a teacher does outside the classroom and in his/her private home is their business. And I'm sure if YOU made an equally embarrassing mistake, you'd be very upset if people said you should be prosecuted too.
Yes, its illegal to KNOWINGLY distribute pornography to students, but this was ACCIDENTAL. Therefore there's no violation of the law, no prosecution, and no need for her to lose her career. Fortunately for those of us mortals who make mistakes in our lives, the law has a bit of compassion about accidental situations. They'd rather prosecute people who actually INTENDED to show porn to children rather than those who did so by accident.
So stop being so self-righteous and holier-than-thou and have some understanding. This woman may not lose her job or license, but I'm sure she'll have to move several states away and change her name in order to avoid being called "the home porno teacher". Isn't that penalty enough for a mis-click of the mouse when compiling a video on the computer? - Reply to this comment
- I can't believe they thought she would just waltz outside and discuss this with them. She's very fortunate she will not lose her job, but she is going to have a difficult time going to work after that.

- She may not have done this intentionally but she should definitely step down from her job. That tape will become school legend and she will never live it down. She won't be able to effectively teach in an atmosphere of disrespect. She should quietly leave her job and teach in another state.
As for the Dad, I'd be upset too. He's a jerk if he was the one who provided the tape (and he does show his face on t.v.). But...um...the woman sent out a tape of herself masturbating to school kids that she teaches. So. That would be the unfortunate consequence of the mistake she made. If you're going to do stuff like that you have to be prepared for the results. She's obviously something of an exhibitionist, so, I'm not entirely sure it's even that upsetting to her, who knows it might have been a subconscious intention. - Reply to this comment
- If you toggle back and forth on the video it's pretty exciting.

- No, probably not ruined. In a couple of years they will brag they were in the class and saw the tape. That's just the way it is.They'll be laughing their heads off, and even tell it at cocktail parties one day. Who wouldn't?

- First off to tmittelstad - you nailed it. The poster this woman is referring to in her post is me. I put up a post on June 6 in reply to her post. If you got the time go back and read my rebuttal to her on June 6. Again you nailed it - especially the part of how people "repress" theirs and others natural sexual awareness. Your example of Bristol Palin was on the mark as well. She repressed her urges to the point that it just automaticallly boiled over like a "wet dream" if you will. Another example we can throw in there is Hugh Hefner. He's someone I admire though. His parents were devout Christian missionaries. They naturally raised him in their faith, but, he said at an early age he could tell that this wasn't for him, he couldn't see this being his lifes work. He respected an adored his parents and the religion, but he knew he would be hypocritical if he continued being a devout member in that particular religion. So by the time his teens rolled around he went out in his own direction, and the rest is history as they say. Repressing your natural sexual feelings is very dangerous, it leads to a conflicted life and persona. staycalm will never be able to see this because of the way she was raised, and you can tell very intellectual but in the wrong ways. I would love to meet you in person staycalm, you're obviously not a stupid person, but, perhaps being around people with an open mind about human sexuality could possibly show you an entire different way of looking at life and your place in the pecking order. I live here in L.A. I would take time to show you a completely differnt perspective on life, and how sexuality is not pornographic no matter how its shown to you. And yes, kids should be talked to about this at an early age, I have a son myself, and he knows all about sex from me and about girls. tmittelstaed had it correct also when he said in Europe its totally different how they approach sexuality. They do go topless on their beaches, no problem when you see that from an early age it lessens the chance that a child will grow up to be a pervert. Also like I pointed out in post on June 6th America leads the World in sex crimes, divorce, juvenile crime, and like the example of Bristol Palin teenage pregnancies. All thos categories are intertwined. The vast number of Americans are seriously conflicted about sex and anything sexual. I lot of them hopelessly repress what amounts to a natural feeling. Again, sex is completely natural and beautiful, its not nasty, or pornographic. America came up with this. And now they're paying the price with all these conflicted people. Strip clubs make billions now - Whats the number 1 movie at the box office right now. What ever it is, it probably made on average about 45 million on opening day. That pales in comparison to adult movies, Hollywood wish they could make the kinds of money these people make. Escort services and call girls are multi million dollar operations. So now, in order for these people to generate that kind of revenue they need what to do that with? Right, customers. Get the point. Who are all these millions of people that patronize these categories I just talked about. You're right again its Joe the plumber, Billy Bob and Lucille in the midwest, Uncle harry in the east Aunt Sally down south, everyday average people who repressed their sexuality so much, now they've come of age an now they're trying to catch up. Wake up stay calm, get on board this thing called life.

- This poor teacher was obviously trying to make a special dvd for her class. Mistakes happen. However, this TOOL who calls himself a father is either fishing for a potential lawsuit or is just as stupid as he sounds. If he cant figure out what to say to his own 5th grader after being exposed to a sexually explicit image or scene, then maybe he is the one who needs psychological help. My concern is if they were watching the dvd together, as he states so freely on the news, didn't he just turn it off? It takes 5 seconds to get off your butt and hit the stop button or pull the plug from the wall. This idiot likely watched the entire scene.

- I think she's gone through enough embarrassment. This was a mistake and the idiot that handed it over to the press should be shunned for being a crybaby clown.

- I agree with all of Sea Stallion's comment. First of all, I did not watch any of the video. I only read the comments on CBS, which has become my source for newspapers and magazines , which means I have zero knowledge of the teacher's tape, or the father's response.
However, the limited know how I have of American people, is that an event will happen, one or more persons will respond how event will tarnish, and others will come, saying that they were waiting for the same bus. Of course, by bus I want it known that I mean people will state their interpretation of how said event will scar.
Yes, I am being American, but I want people to know that spreading their difference is not correct. What is correct? Learning how to make positives out of negatives. Step one, for those parents of classmates, return the videos to the teacher.
Why? These DVD's will be needed so the teacher can make the correction, and have these DVD's express the thanks to the students, who are the reason she worked so strenuous, in the hopes that her students will learn to value and enjoy education. Step two, if one deems necessary, will not be given by me.
Thank you for reading my comment.
In closing, I would like to thank CBS for respectful coverage of the events pertaining to the loss of Michael Jackson. Specifically, I thank LL CoolJ for his comments about the uniqueness and specialty of performances by Michael Jackson. - Reply to this comment
