- If it had been a male teacher he would have been arrested, fired, and called a pedophile. But since it was a woman it's all OK. It's like callling someone a ******. You've just got to be the right kind of person for it to be OK to do.

- BINGO! Objective journalism is a thing of the past. Now even the mainstream news media are resorting to tabloid journalism.
No longer is it "if it bleeds, it leads".
Now the attitude is, "If it bleeds, work that artery open wider, spread the blood all over, and then report the shaving cut as a vicious stabbing incident."
This story could have been tastefully reported in text only, without sidebar pictures or on-demand video, and without the giant "CRIMESIDER" billboard. All this does is turn the poor woman's misadventure into a nationwide scandal.
Congratulations CBS, you've helped destroy yet another individual's life in the name of shameless ratings. - Reply to this comment
- Hey Zonk, there's a little thing called INTENT! Go back to page one of these comments and the statute is listed right there showing that there MUST BE INTENT in order for it to be prosecuted. Otherwise there'd be a whole lot of people in jail for making a stupid mistake like this, or the countless people who returned the "Land Before Time" video with their homemade porn inside by accident.
Or do you not allow anyone to make mistakes.... ever? - Reply to this comment
- Riiiight, because videotaping yourself is exactly the same as preying on children. With logic like that all clowns MUST be pedophiles because they hide their identities behind makeup and play with children.
I sometimes wonder if people actually THINK before they grab their torches and pitchforks. - Reply to this comment

- Why didn't any of the parents put in on You Tube or a porno web site? Then donate any money to the school where the kinky teacher is employed. That way she would be REALLY SORRY!!

- I'm really disgusted at the local CBS affilate's deceision to do this story and at the father for taking it to them. from ALL accounts this was a mistake on the teachers part. One that was found out by all the children and the families that received the DVD and anyone who these families know that they told. That alone probably resulted in enough pain and embarrasment to last a lifetime. Now its taken public via the news and the internet, and for what reason or purpose.
Is the community at large being alerted to a sexual predator and their intentioanl harm to a victim and other potential vitims - NO; is this something of note about the delining state of education - No; the teacher is even praised for work. That leaves only one reason...to get ratings, and to get big ratings. The parent could have put it on youtube all on his own if he wanted to just get the message out, and if it was a true story of note, viewership would have be astronomical.
What's leading to the fraying of morales and decency in the good ol' US of A...look no further than out local news stations. - Reply to this comment

- children in some house hold have access to cable tv and video on demand run rampant with adult entertainment. the parents find out about them when they see the charges on the cable bill. there are parental blocks a parent can add if they just take the time, this is the problem talk to the children they will tell you. On the flip side, the teacher should have proof watched what she was giving out. Im embarrassed for her. she is getting her 15 minutes of fame in the worst way. welcome to the world being a celebrity.

- Trauma? What trauma? Did someone bash these kids' heads into a wall while they watched it and we didn't hear about it?
I'm sure if you saw something like this when you were oh-so-innocent at age 10 you'd have simply been a bit confused and eventually you'd sort it out. You wouldn't be horribly scarred for life with no idea what to do with yourself because of what horrors your eyes had seen.
And there is no such thing as "moral common sense". There's either common sense, which people like myself have. And then there's high morality, which prudes like you have. And sadly common sense goes right out the window when high morality moves in, because common sense allows for compassion and forgiveness, something you apparently lack. - Reply to this comment
- If you think one brief bit of porn could "impair the morals of children", then obviously someone did a poor job of teaching those kids morals. If you're taught good morals and believe in those morals, there's nothing anyone can do to dissuade you from them. Apparently you think children are delicate china dolls who fracture at the slightest harsh word and crumble if they see something naughty.
