We often hear from those who fight to uphold this practice for those under the age of 18 (even to the blaming of the social maladies of the day on a supposed "lack" of it), but we rarely, if ever, find advocates for the return of corporal punishment to the general adult community, college campuses, inmate population, or military. Why is that?

Ask ten unyielding proponents of child/adolescent/teenage-only "spanking" about the "right" way to do it, and what would be abusive, indecent, or obscene, and you will get ten different answers.

These proponents should consider making their own video-recording of the "right way" to do it.

Judge Adams should not only be dismissed as a judge, he should be immediately jailed for a significant amount of time. What he did on the video is utterly clear-cut, cruel, out-of-control physical abuse. There is absolutely no excuse for such monstrous behavior under any circumstance. He is obviously a very sick and dangerous individual whose gross lack of judgment and temperance completely disqualify him from serving on the bench. How can the state of Texas allow such a person to continue to be a judge? His actions are like those of the Taliban. This is an outrage.

joy888 - you have no clue about me. my children are grown successful men and I am a professional and we have a good life. You have no right to judge me or make assumptions just because my opinion may differ from yours. I think if you only allow people to think as you do and agree with you it is you that has the twisted mind.

Those who have no issues with this judge / so called father's behavior either didn't truly watch the tape or they are themselves abusers and should be investigated. I can only imagine what they do to their own children or spouses. Makes the hair on my neck stand on end.

I have no problem with discipline. If he had walked in the room, maybe swatted her across the butt with his big bad belt and took her computer and walked out, I might brush it off. But this maniac kept coming at her. He wouldn't back off. She wasn't being rebellious, she wasn't being disrespectful...she was crying and asking him to stop.

As for the mother, I don't know what to think about her. Watching that video of her insulting her daughter, telling her daughter to take it and allowing that psychopath to keep beating her makes me think she is just as whacked out. Then again, I'm sure he beat her too. I'm sure she was brainwashed. Whatever her excuse, her actions should not go completely unpunished. I'm so glad the daughter is out of that home.

I still think he needs a taste of his own medicine.

lokibear2, you need help! See my earlier comment. I hope you don't have children. If so, God please watch over them.

I watched the tape. It was not "violent" whipping and it was a defiant teenager refusing to turn over and take her medicine. The parents could not back down at that point. The father tried multiple times to turn her over. I think she deserved what she got. I would have turned her over and sat on her and lit her butt up afterwards.

The only thing that's different about this guy and MOST parents of my generation is that there's a video.

William Adams is a Repub,a Christian and from Texas.

He was elected by a very wide margin.

Let's hope that the voters in Texas will be more sensible and moral in the future.
