- But, really, that was some good bacon.
This is why we need to keep the sanctity of marriage between one man, one women, and one crazy ol' grandma. - Reply to this comment
- Um, couldn't the grandmother have just refused to give him anymore bacon instead of beating on him after the fact?

- If you eat too much bacon you may grow up to be a complete a$$hole like Grandma.

- That 9 year-old is lucky this happened in 2011 instead of 1957. If it had he would've eaten his next two or three meals standing up. Grannys' intentions were good but her methods were all wrong.

- I wonder if the grandma has ever heard the phrase 'over-reaction'? Maybe she has an anger problem and shouldn't even be around young children? Why doesn't she set everyone's plate and fill it before calling folks to eat? SO many other ways to handle this kind of situation!

- When I was 9 it well would have been a punishing or even whipping offense to take more than your share of food and a 9 year old would be expected to know better. The holding down with the garden hose thing sounds rather crazy, though.

- This is NOT abuse at all. Good for her, setting up boundaries and respect within the home and being willing to go to the mat for rules in her home. We need more of this from parents today. Free Granny!!!

- Well maybe he did piggy up to the bacon. Maybe he should have been supervised and only given a few slices. Sounds like the kid has done this sort of thing before. At nine years old he should know the lessons of sharing and not hogging. Doesn't sound like the kid was seriously hurt. Maybe next time don't have the kid eat at the house and let his parents take care of that, or portion out his food and make him go sit in a corner and eat by himself.
