Look at the shape of her face! I don't subscribe to phrenology, but that is a seriously damaged human being. As in actual brain damage. The left side of her face shows no emotion at all, the pupil is dilated and her mouth is smaller on the left than the right. This is the face of an exceptionally cruel and petty person.

- If by softer I hope they mean the death penalty, life without parole is too good for this monster of a human being. In a just world she should be shaken to death herself. Or better yet, I would recommend a summary stoning. NO leniency in this situation is justifiable, and to me this is a perfect illustration of why the death penalty is sometimes justifiable.

- okay this is an outrage. I can't believe a woman can shake a baby just because he's interrupting her game. I have 3 kids one of which was severely colicky as an infant. He never stopped crying until he exhausted himself. I walked the floors with him I comforted him and spent countless sleepless nights during his first year. Nothing mattered to me but my baby and his discomfort now that's what a mom does she does not shake her baby to death no matter what. If she can't handle it she should drive that child directly to a human services office and march it into the office and hand it over to someone who can place him or her someplace safe. Otherwise she deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison. No excuses that's just fact.

- SO SINCE "MOMMY" IS SO INTO FARMS, WHEN THE JUDGE SENTENCES HER, SHE NEEDS TO BE MADE TO PLANT FARMS THE WHOLE TIME SHE'S IN PRISON. NO DEATH SENTENCE!! JUST PLANT ACRES AND ACRES OF FARMLAND AND WATCH IT GROW. A GAME? REALLY? I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD AND A ONE MONTH OLD; I'M ON FACEBOOK, I WORK, AND I DO CLASSES ONLINE. NOT ONCE HAVE I THOUGHT TO HARM MY KIDS BECAUSE THEY WHINE AND NO SHE'S NOT CRAZY OR NOTHING LIKE THAT SHE THOUGHT ENOUGH TO GET A BOX OF CIGARETTES, LIGHT ONE, LOOK BACK AT THE BABY THAT SHE JUST SHOOK UP, AND GO SHAKE HIM AGAIN.

- There is no comparing something like this to late-term abortions. Firstly, you speak of late-term abortions as "done every day" - they are rare procedures. They are only done if the mother will die otherwise. This is a selfish, immature woman who murdered an infant for no reason other than it was making noise that bothered her. Do you see the difference?

- Why do foster parents go through rigorous screening by social services yet biological parents can just go right ahead and breed with no pre-qualification? There should be a "no child policy" until prospective parents have met certain required minima. If a woman falls pregnant without having her credentials checked, the law should mandate she undergoes parent training and psychometrics in tandem with her pregnancy. I am naturally of a libertarian bent so this kind of intervention in people's lives is completely at odds with my political outlook, but we live in strange days where young mothers are murdering their own children. Desperate times call for desperate measures, surely?

- If only she just went to smoke the cigarette first to compose herself..I have a 6 week old son, and it can be frustrating, but never would I shake him for any reason..especially a stupid video game. There is no excuse, some women just aren't meant to be mothers.
