This is a misunderstanding based upon the concept of a "curse."
Being under a curse does not mean that God doesn't love people or desire to bless them. It is the nature of a curse to harm innocent people. Many years ago our founder's support of the sin of slavery brought a curse upon our nation. There was a bloody Civil War in which many innocent people died. People continue to be harmed by the curse of slavery by poverty and discrimiation. It doesn't mean that all Americans are bad or profit from the evils of slavery or that white people today must pay! (although some may believe this).
Jesus never promised that his followers would by politically correct or understood; indeed, he promised quite the opposite. The Christian message is one of redemption from the curse whereever it s found! Pat Robertson has won humanitarian awards for his work all around the globe through Operation Blessing and his flying hospital. I am sure he will do more to aid the suffering people of Haiti than any of his critics. That was his primary focus and I think it should by ours.

More sickness from those who claim to speak for Christ. I wonder when Christians - true ones - if there are any left - will stop tolerating this type of hatred masquerading as their religion?

Correction: Paul Farmer is part of 'partners in health' known as "Zanmi Lasante" in Haitian Creole, not "physicians in peace" as the man on the interview said. www.pih.org

So the flipside of the equation (i.e. suffering means you're with the devil)is that Dick Cheney (who killed thousands for profit), Wealthy rich Warlords and rich drug lords, Illegal immigrant exploiting CEOs, all must be religious, pious and as god like as they come!!!! Since they are rich and comfortable, oh and by the way, child abuse victims must have also been consorting with Satan as well!!!

Pat Robertson is a disgrace. That he calls himself Christian is sad. Is he old and has his brain rotted? ... or was he always this way? I don't really know, although most I've heard he has always been a "holier than thou" type person. He is NOT representative of true people of faith and certainly not humanity. People who do not profess any religion have compassion, as compassion for our fellow humans does not require anyone to be religious. I've always been told, "God is Love." .... His remarks don't reflect that.

I hope EVERYONE will contribute to the Haiti Earthquake charities... together we can make a huge difference.

Pat Robertson is a revolting worm, how any reputable "news" organization can still claim him as an expert guest on any program is beyond me. How Disney can continue to host his cult 700 club on the Family channel is beyond me. His tax free status needs to be revoked.
