The website proves my point.

Total Corporation Taxes Paid of $416,812,815 divided by Total Corporation Receipts of $20,689,574,291 is 2.0%.

Politely, simply, you dont know what you are talking about. Take some time, do some reading before you do tax calculations. No taxes are ever calculated on gross receipts. I know of no country that has ever done that. There are many reasons, good reasons for this.

The simplest way I can explain it is by a ridulous example. Suppose you have a business arranging trips to China. The airline charges you $6000 for travel, the hotel charges you $2000 for food, and you pay a travel guide in China $200 to show your customers around the Great Wall. Your total cost is $8200 and you sell the package for $9000 making $800 profit. You will be taxed on that $800 profit, not the sale price of $9000. Thats why its called INCOME tax instead of SALES TAX.

As you say: "Americans must lower their Standard of Living in order to have a chance to Compete with Foeign Developed Nations.". And we cannot escape that by hiding the costs in taxes and getting the government to do what we cant afford to do ourselves.

According to a website 4 weeks ago, each American over the age of 1 second owns China and Saudi Arabia over $168,000.00 because of our $13 Trillion and counting Federal Debt.

Americans are Poorer than any 3rd World Country if you include our debt. I recall in the 1980s criticizing Mexico foreign debt which today is zero.

2 months ago, Secretary of State Clinton had to urgently fly to China to BEG them to let us borrow more money from them. Last week, Pelosi had to do the same. China is concerned about loaning us more money.

Economic Power is better than all the Military Powers of the World.

Slowly but Surely, America is under the Mercy of the New Emerging Great Communist China Empire.

They see Obama spending money at rates greater than we can print it and yet they don tthink it ever has to be accounted for, someone else will pay it back. Steve Balmer, the Chinese, even britain, tells Obama he cant keep doing this. They like the guys personality but lecture him on fiscal wisdom. But still, he persists and many naieve Americans support that.

Its sad how many Americans are so naieve and yet the not only vote, they argue with others that they understand the consequences of their votes. Obviously, you have another agenda which is unencumbered by facts.

Thank you for changing the Subject because you fear the Answer. Obviously, you will not show us your calculations using the numbers on that website.

ARE YOU JUST BEING ARGUMENTATIVE??? I ALREADY DID THAT FOR YOU, TWICE. THEN YOU SAID YOUDIDNT BELIEVE ME SO I GAVE YOU THE LINK TO THE FEDERAL WEB SITE.

Now, politely, tell me what you dont understand. My numbers are bipartisan, the facts are easily calculated. What are you missing? Or are you so bent on disagreement that we cant even do simple math together?

Before WWII, America was nobody.

After WWII, America had a World Economic Monopoly. All foreign nations were Ruined and Destroyed. Consequently, all foreign developing nations were Forced to purchase 'Made in USA' at our High Monopoly Price which raised our Standard of living thru the Roof.

Today, America got No World Economic Monopoly. Americans must lower their Standard of Living in order to have a chance to Compete with Foeign Developed Nations.

I do not Blame or Credit Capitalism, Democracy, Organized Labor and American's IQ.

I agree with much of this post, not all. America was NOT a nobody but we did play a smaller part than today. We practiced isolationism and chose to stay out of WW II except for providing materials and some volunteers to Britain. We emerged from WW II as a world power because women went to work while men went to war and the enemy could not effectively reach us.

Now we must compete, as a country And that is what Steve Balmer is telling us and what I have been telling you. All of our costs and our product quality must be measured by world standards. raising taxes simply raises our costs and makes us even less competitive.

As you say: "Americans must lower their Standard of Living in order to have a chance to Compete with Foeign Developed Nations.". And we cannot escape that by hiding the costs in taxes and getting the government to do what we cant afford to do ourselves.

There was a reason that Germany didn't attack America in WWII. We had whipped them earlier in the century.
Japan miscalculated when they 'Did' attack us. We quit being a "Nobody" during WWI. The rest of the world understood, its amazing that you don't!
