Think, people.

If members of Congress have voted in the past without reading the bills, that means somebody told them how to vote.

Why should they start to read bills now? Somebody will still tell them how to vote.

At the same time these same Members of Congress that have no time to read the Bills have a retinue of pages and helpers around them.I guess that all these people are there to "comfort" and "pleasure" the Senators and Congresspersons. In fact, some of these Members of Congress have been indited for this conduct. But these people cannot read the Bills and pass an assesment on them?.I guess pages and helpers for Members of Congress are hired on the basis of looks and not on intelligence. The prettier you are the closer you are to the Member of Congress.Intelligent humans may not apply.Shameful and disgusting.

The ideal thing would be to have each Senator/Rep staff actually read the bill and report back to their principal as to what it contained. In the absence of this, the very least that each Senator/Rep needs to do is to read the Executive Summary of the bill. This summary needs to include any and all last minute admendments.

I fault Senator Reid and Speaker Peloski on this. On virtually all of this legislation, they could have ignored Obama's insistance on quick passage and given their people a sufficient time to analyze the contents.
