What Immelt does not understand is that $13.00 an hour does no good for the company. $13.00 per hour gives you say $9.60 per hour take home. You work an 8 hour day.
For me that would be- bout $4.50 for lunch. 30 miles one way to work and my truck gets 11 mpg around town and 16 mpg on highway, say avg. 14 mpg? That would be 4 gallons gas per day at summer rates of 3.70 per gallon-
$104.00 gross per day - $4.50 lunch, - $14.80 gas,$2.00 per day insurance for truck, taxes= $56.70 per day (- breakfast and dinner costs).
How can an employee save any money in one of those health savings accounts or a college fund to take night classes to move up in the company?

Flipping burgers is $7.35 per hour and working for one of the largest companies in the world only pays $13.00 per hour?

The most important question I would like answered is this- How much does this man make at an hourly rate?????

The leading health care providing CEO makes $167,000 per hour.

Find something you like/love to do; then slowly grow it into a business.

Is this guy kidding me? I love for American companies to sell products world-wide and if he was actually paying attention he would realize that is not what people are angry about. What I am angry about is that you make billions of dollars in profits, you get money from the government and you get a tax rebate-meanwhile you pay AMERICANS little to nothing to do the work, while you bonus/salary is going through the roof.

Immelt has no problem with fleecing shareholders for his obscene multimillion dollar bonuses and salary, which have risen many times more than his employee's wages. Like most CEOs today, he is in the job for himself first, shareholders second, company third, and country and workers come dead last.

Immelt believes its correct to outsource GE jobs to China while heading the U.S. Jobs and Competitiveness Council. This is pathetically wrong, and Obama should fire him. GE also paid no taxes this year on a billion dollar profit. A truly "American" company would not even think about doing this.
Does Immelt even understand the languages his employees speak? Chinese agent. His fellow citizens have a harder time paying for basics than his Chinese workers. How much did GE pay in Chinese taxes?

Your last sentence is an excellent question. How much did GE pay in Chinese taxes? I'm very curious to know.

What a great opportunity for GE's Board of Directors to independently verify Immenlt's claim, "Our employees basically like us."

What would GE employees say, anonymously, about GE if asked whether GE's performance is legal, ethical and sustainable?

If he is really Obama's friend, why isn't he bringing jobs TO America, instead of the opposite?
