I watched the entire speech Pres. Obama gave today in N.C. in front of U.S. Marines getting ready to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan from beginning to end, I didn't miss a word, the U.S. is not leaving Iraq!

Making promises on the campaign trail shows your hearts desire, but actually becoming President and having access to facts and information not previously available forces any new President to make adjustments, I expected minor adjustments, but the adjustments made should still not be that far off from promises made. Leaving 50,000 troops in Iraq after 2010 seems a tad too many. President Barack Obama should have installed his own Pentagon and Defense choices, he is still working with and dealing with former Pres. Bush's Defense choices and so once again, just exactly what advice does Pres. Obama expect to hear from these Bush leftovers? It was President Obama, then Senator Obama, who told us on the campaign trail that if you keep doing what you're doing you'll keep getting what you're getting. It was then Senator Obama who warned us about doing the same thing and expecting different results! Well President Barack Obama, you have the same Bush Defense Department Advisers giving you the same advice they gave former Pres. Bush, and it seems like you should listen to and take your own advice, else the U.S. will be in Iraq for another 100 years!

I am unable to.....fortunate for you I guess.

So......your complaining about me calling you a LIBERAL in capital letters seems a little I don't know.........nitpicky to me!

Oh, yes, so fortunate for me - it would just kill me if I thought you didn't like me! And I didn't complain about you calling me a LIBERAL - just the opposite. You don't seem to have very strong reading comprehension skills I'm proud of being a liberal, definition of which is: broad-mindedness; generous and tolerant of change.

I am sorry....but this is just ONE MORE example of yet another 'I am totally clueless liberal who does not read the news only the head lines' asking stupid questions........or making stupid comments.........

It is what it is, I guess!

That's pretty funny, coming from the person who only cited the first paragraph of the WSJ article, not knowing that the rest of it contained information pointing to the Bush official who dropped the charges. The point remains that the US had this guy holed up in a prison in Morocco, being tortured, for TWO YEARS before they put him in Gitmo. Then they charge him with something that doesn't hold up, then drop the charges with no explanation. Could it be that they knew he couldn't be tried, because he'd been tortured. Just another example of the ineptitude of Bush and the neocons.

And that great sage, Rowdy, once criticized liberals of resorting to name calling when they had no facts. Perhaps you could take a lesson from her. Gee, I wonder what happened to the old wiccan, anyway? Where could she possibly have gone to.....

They obviously had this guy in custody for good reason. His affiliation was what put him there to begin with.....that an a plan to blow up american apartments obviously.

You know, calling me a LIBERAL, all in caps, does not really hurt my feelings at all.

But back to the subject, if they 'obviously had good reason' why did the BUSH OFFICIAL drop all charges? Yep, that must have been Obama's doing, too.

Still waiting for some pompous, sanctimonious comeback from laurieleemoocow after I pointed out that it was a Bush official who dropped the charges on the guy she's blaming Obama for releasing. It's been 20 minutes now.

I have to tell you.....I AM SICK AND TIRED OF HAVING TO EDUCATE and try to reprogram you totally clueless, brainwashed by the media liberals!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about that you whiny liberal!
Posted by laurieleemooIn 2005

Hmm, while you were 'educating' me, you conveniently forgot to educate me about the rest of the story in the Wall Street Journal: It seems he was arrested in 2002, disappeared until 2004, when he suddenly appeared in Gitmo. Then, according to WSJ,
'Mr. Mohamed was charged with conspiracy. After the Supreme Court ruled the Bush tribunals set up at Guantanamo illegal, Congress authorized a modified version and the charges were refiled. Those charges were canceled in October 2008 by the Bush official overseeing the trials. She provided no explanation.'

So, a BUSH official canceled his charges! Did you not see that part of the story? So no charges, no prison. What part of BUSH OFFICIAL do you not understand? Try to educate yourself a bit, before you call someone 'whiny' for simply asking a question.

We don?t necessarily use the oil we pump from Iraq for our own consumption. We sell it around the world and the profits go to Exxon Oil in Dubai. We charge Iraq for the war (unjustified invasion) damage that we have inflicted on them and the profits go to Halliburton and Backwater based in Dubai. The US taxpayer pays for the invasion, and the miltary industrial complex and big oil takes the profit offshore. We need to keep 50 thousand troops in Iraq to protect their business interest. I am very disappointed in Obama. He is not the man of integrity that I thought I was voting for.
