- BUSH JUST ESCAPES BEING THE 5-TRILLION-DOLLAR-MAN
The latest posting on the Department of the Treasury website shows the National Debt just hit $10.759-trillion dollars. And that $5-trillion and change more than it was on the day Pres. Bush took office on Jan. 20, 2001.
Even so, Mr. Bush ran up the biggest increase in the National Debt of any American president. The Debt was $5.727-trillion on his first day in the White House. And on the day he left, it was $10.626-trillion. That means the Debt increased by $4.899-trillion on his watch. Some would round it off to $5-trillion -- but that wouldn%u2019t be fair. He was saved from five trillion dollar infamy by $101-billion. - Reply to this comment

Maybe I should finish what I was saying.
Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.
Is that really a FACT, or just another lie? Let''s take a look at a quote from a 2004 article - Case Study: Chicago- The Barack Obama Campaign - written by Toni Foulkes, a Chicago ACORN Leader, which was published in the journal Social Policy. Did we mention that Social Policy recently pulled this particular article from their website, while leaving links to all other articles up?
"Obama took the case, known as ACORN vs. Edgar (the name of the Republican governor at the time) and we won. Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5,000 of them). - Reply to this comment
- The capitalist banks -- who made all kinds of stupid loans and were engaged in all kinds of leveraging schemes -- saw their best made plans blow up. Afterward, they were begging to be "socialized" so that they could avoid bankruptcy. I guess this is what they mean by "socialism for the rich."

- If Republican politicians are so deeply opposed to President Obama''s economic recovery plan, they should refuse to take the money. After all, if you think all that federal spending is damaging, there are easy ways to reduce it: Don''t take federal money.
Gov. Sanford can lead the way. South Carolina should decline to accept any federal funds for transportation, education, health care, clean energy or any of the other ideas President Obama is advocating to fix the economy. And the rest of the GOP can follow suit. - Reply to this comment

- Why are Republicans worried about spending money on this stimulus bill? It was Dickless Cheney who said, "Deficits don''t matter." Don''t believe it? Google it.
