Three Republicans Agree To A $780 Billion Package, Down From More Than $900 Billion
- Whatever the price tag, the compromise marked a victory for the new president,"
And of course, that''s all that matters. No matter how much we have to baby this inexperienced president along the media will assure his success. - Reply to this comment
- I read the other day that we spend 40 billion on EITC. That''s a lot of bucks that should be cut down. It''s more abused than anything else in the tax code because it''s very difficult to track kids dependency particularly because nobody gets married anymore.

- The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. They''ve proven themselves to be just a cliche'' as Republicans have always beleived. Tax and spend, wealth redistribution, anti-busines, anti-capitlist, socialists.

- But not a single politician claiming to be a conservative should vote for this.

I agree, ever since I have been involved in politics, many years, the only thing I have seen from those that self identify as conservatives is an attempt to redistribute our county''s wealth to the top 5%. I have watched them fight tooth and nail about making any form of investments in our country. And they will never vote for anything that has any stipulations for the other 90-95% of American citizens beyond throwing them some small bone to shut them up. - Reply to this comment
- The burden that illegal%u2019s place on the economy is absurd! Most get paid under the table (no taxes) posted by truth_serum

Most of what you have posted is incorrect and distorted, so I will just address one issue at a time. Let''s start with: So who is paying people who are in this country illegally under the table? - Reply to this comment
- The burden that illegal%u2019s place on the economy is absurd! At best. They are killing us financially from welfare to hospitals, from lowering housing values to stressing our infrastructure, from working tax free and sending money out of the country to the drug base of their economy. Look what they''ve done to the California system. We will never recover from this recession as long as illegal immigration is tolerated. In fact you will surely go to depression. Most get paid under the table (no taxes) then send the money home. Mexico is not a poor country but a corrupt one. They are corrupting our officials as well. The root of their economy is drugs. Unless we take a firm position we will soon be involved in the same level of violence that is ongoing in corrupt Mexico. I had hoped that you would help us Americans Obama. Giving amnesty, as you have seen before in the 80''s and nineties will only cause employers to send for new illegals and the process starts again. I am telling you that one of the most oppressive elements of our recession is the illegal alien. Illegal aliens don''t vote or send to support you. How about leading the fight for the cause of hard working honest American who is not overcome with greed as are businesses that hire illegal and drive down wages and put Americans out of work. How about championing the cause of the people who support you. Support E-verify, no amnesty, encourage illegal%u2019s to go home, respect our country and apply the right way.

Wouldn''t know who you are talking about. But not a single politician claiming to be a conservative should vote for this. Democrat or Republican. If they do vote for this, they are not a conservative and I''ll do my part to fix that at the next election, just like the last election. - Reply to this comment
- Ban the failed Republican party. We have enough right wing extremists in the Democratic party.

I don''t think that we are talking about the same thing. But that doesn''t surprise me. It is an expression. And the kind of reaming I''m talking about is done with a wire brush and turpentine. - Reply to this comment

- AND the big problem is, how do you get rid of it?

Wait. That''s all.
The fat, bloated gas bag of lies called the Democrats will be ignited by the smalles spark of truth and go down in a flaming inferno like the Hindenberg - OH, THE HUMANITY!!!
Just like the GOP did eight years ago.
When people realize all they''re doing is ping ponging from one gang of bandits to the other, they''ll let the military stage a coup d''etat, then we''ll have a military police state and we won''t have Barney Frank, Bill Clinton, or Dubya anymore.
Elections are supposed to prevent this problem, but they don''t work anymore thanks to Zero Population Growth allowing the ranks of the poor to swell and overwhelm the middle class.
The rich have ALWAYS tried to do this, only the middle class was stopping them.
The middle class has rendered itself a pitiful minority in any political contest. The poor make poor choices - that''s why they''re poor.
That''s why Barney Frank got 69% of the vote, instead of getting thrown in prison like he should have been.
This country is broken, we need a new one.

- It really doesn''t matter how good an idea is. Once congress gets done with it, it becomes a disaster. The whole meaning and intent gets changed.

- but we''''re VERY CONCERNED about that 0.1%
We''''re having SERIOUS SECOND THOUGHTS about whether you''''re really the right person in this job
You''''re so mysterious and unpredictable...

0.1% is NOTHING.
"...in this job." What job is that?
And I am not the least bit mysterious or unpredictable. Take Shazam for instance. He can predict, without any doubt, that if he crosses me, I will ream his *** out.:) - Reply to this comment
- Obama Support Plummeting....Will Obama do the will of the people??
A stimulus plan that includes only tax cuts is now more popular than the economic recovery plan being considered in Congress. Forty-five percent (45%) favor a tax-cut only plan while 34% are opposed. Those figures reflect a modest increase in support over the past week. Candidate Obama campaigned heavily on a promise to cut taxes for 95% of all Americans, and voters strongly believe that tax cuts are good for the economy. Most Americans believe that a dollar of tax cuts is better for the economy than a dollar of government spending.

They both work only the government never stops spending. One thing after the next becomes an entitlement program. - Reply to this comment
