Family Of Slain Civil Rights Leader Relishes Historic Day
- To: "Obama isn''t black?"
I know history as well or better than you my friend!
What you and many other brainwashed people need to do is look past history so that it doesn''t repeat itself.
Otherwise it will and we''re all srewed. Is that what your saying you want?
I do though give you credit for picking up an occasional history book, most people don''t. - Reply to this comment
- thekidjaluv-well, seems the left and your media made a big A deal over the race of the chosen one. The very fact that the race card gets pulled out if you aren''t a mindless supporter. The fact that someone can be conservative and the fact that the chosen one is a flaming liberal AND that''s why you don''t support him you are called a racist.
No one plays the race card better than the left. Oh yea, that and class envy. - Reply to this comment
- Obama isn''t black?
Give me a break.
Besides the fact that it doesn''t matter...
When it''s round-up time, do you think they will give him a pass, and say "oh well you''re mixed, you get a pass"
We come in all flavors and shades.
Your pain isn''t any deeper than mine, so you need to get over yourself, and pick up the occasional history book. - Reply to this comment
- The fact of the matter is that President Obama is not Black unless you use the definition of the law in this country to be considered Black legally (which is one of the resons this country is so screwed up). The pendulum can never come to rest in the middle.
The President is bi-racial, that''s common sense 101. To be the first Black President he would have to be 100% Black, anything less is bi-racial.
But I do wish that during this whole untrue historic event that the media would have talked about the Presidents White background. Like is his other half German and French, or perhaps Irish and Russian, etc.
So the truth of the matter is we have had a historic non-historic event! A bunch of bullhockey. The media is full of controlled materialists: zombies who report whatever their told to report (although there are still a few people in the media that haven''t sold their souls so to speak for fame and fortune).
Refuse to be programmed people, think for yourselves. We are all in this together and I hope that our new President will be able to turn things around and we should all do whatever we can to help that process.
And if you don''t like a particular race(s), think about this: whether you like it or not we are all part of each other. And we should stop alowing society through the powers that be to keep us divided. Because through division and strife, is one of the ways they maintain control over us.
WAKE UP!!! - Reply to this comment

- antioniaf123-so I guess tolerating hate speech for years from the left was ok??? Quit the double standard. NOthing from the right can compare with the left hate speech seen on your cable news, HOllywood, TV, etc.

- blackyowe-his father NEVER was an immigrant. He came to this country for a short time and then left. He never became a citizen. Get your facts straight.
AND, just why didn''t the chosen one speak of his mixed heritage early on??? THAT would have brought us together.Instead he spent over 20 years sitting a pew listening to racist hate speech against his country AND white people. So, get your head out of the clouds, he''s a Chicago thug and that''s all. - Reply to this comment
- The heritage of the chosen one has absolutely nothing to do with slavery. His father was a Kenyan citizen who left the family. The constant reference to slavery and the chosen one just shows how little we know of history.

- I want him to not be able to pick his race. Obama has a white mother. Period. White mom, black dad; so, does one get to pick? Give me a break. This country did what it did back then for a reason. Was there the murder rate in our cities back then?
If he wants to be true and honest, he is of mixed race, NOT black.

- What is wonderful is he is all of us. He is Black and he is White. He is native and he is immigrant. He is old stock and he is new stock. He is heartland and he is Islander. He was raised by his mother and grandmother and like so many in America today he seldom saw his father as he grew up. He is a man that is both educated and folksy at the same time. He is privileged in education and yet has been discriminated against for his dark skin. His education makes him part of the highest station but his humble birth keeps him mindful of all who still struggle. I am so grateful we have Obama, he can make old things fresh and new with his unique prospective and he can help us all find new ways to make America better. America has been given a gift.

- Mr. Obama IS a human being and racially mixed-- ALL of us are. I''m a 60 year-old white lady from the west coast and I was born and raised into a family that actively and decisively hated prejudice against any human being and we stood up against it. I''m a living witness to the civil rights struggles (they didn''t happen only in the South)and I know what hate can do. That''s why it''s so important to imbue the young with not just tolerance but real acceptance of another human being.
I knew Mr. Obama was going to be President two years ago when he sent me a form letter about the plight of the U.S. I didn''t know what color he was, either, nor did I care. He''s a true professional, what I call a "class act" and I''m thrilled he''s the President. He will lead this country well.
I know that deep prejudice still exists in this country and that people are still hurting from it. But remember: there really ARE smart people out there who look beyond a person''s color, etc. I''m one of them! And we, together, elected Mr. Obama!
Don''t give up, EVER! - Reply to this comment
- And further more, there are country clubs in the south today, TODAY, that he could not belong to. Now I will let you guess why not.

Black enough. Had he been alive, in the Jim Crow south, he would not have been allowed to drink from a "white water fountain", he would have been forced to sit on the back of the bus, he wouldn''t have been allowed in a "white" school, and had he been alive in 1850, he most probably would have been a slave. How black to you want him to be? - Reply to this comment
