To all you men who are threatened by this well deserved award. You can go see the movie and it won't "turn you Gay." Expand your horizons of information and it will do wonders for your mental health.

They give an Oscar to someone who play's a gay guy who was killed thirty + years ago by a loon because he was being a pri*ck. One of about 30-50 gay people killed over the last 30 years. I suspect more people were killed for picking their nose in a nation of 300,000,000. In that same time about 2,000,000 died on our highways, millions more from preventable accidential deaths.

Yep Gay movement the NEW mccarthyism, where actor MUST play a gay role to have their careers go forward.

The hetrophobia is rampant in hollywood,

I was glad for Oscar night, finally, For one day, the actors stopped worshiping Nobama to worship themselves instead.

Sean Penn did gave a terrific performance in the lead role in "Milk," and he richly deserved the award for best actor. Not only can the man act, but he also stands up for what he believes is right, regardless of whether people like him for it or not. That, is the definition of bravery.....

There's definitely a reason Penn is so passionate about this subject - because he apparently actually cares about injustice and discrimination and murder, rather than being willing to overlook it when it doesn't affect him. I know many other people, heterosexual and homosexual who do not EVER agree with overlooking bigotry, discrimination, racist assaults, even when they personally are safe.

Good for him, and while I don't much appreciate Penn - from all I hear, he well earned this award.

Richard Jenkins in "The Visitor" would have been a better choice. I find Penn to be insulting, arrogant, and unappreciative of the honor bestowed upon his acting skills.

Anyone who saw Sean Penn's performance in Milk knows that he richly deserved the award for Best Actor. Not only can the man act, but he also stands up for the causes he believes in, whether mainstream America agress with his position or not. That is the definition of courage.

Sean Penn is quite possibly the dumbest man in America. He can't tell the difference between the appearance of substance and substance. That's the whole issue with Hollywood. They've lost track of reality and the movies honored last night and the soft porn rewarded on a daily basis in that town prove it beyond a doubt. I wouldn't have any of those "actor people" in my home.

It has to be a huge relief to him to be able to come out....I'm sure he is invested...(wink wink). Funny how the one coming out is almost always the last one to 'know'.

Penn appears to be an above average actor (with the miserable exception of Sam I Am) with an extrodinary concern for the less fortunate victims of the bigotry that is alive but ailing, in our present society. With his help, reasonable people can make intollerance an illness of the past.

I think there are a couple reasons Penn is so "passionate" about this one. He is happy to be getting work and has negotiated a contract to receive millions off of this project.
