Maybe if pin.... (Cheney) and dip.... (Bush) hadn't been treading "sand" in Afghanistan for so many years we would have something to show for our efforts.
Cheney cracks me up.
We went to Afghanistan because they wouldn't turn Osama Bin Laden over. They didn't and I haven't heard that as a demand in over 6 years. Mission Failed and Aborted by Bush and Cheney.
If Bush and Cheney ever showed any strength in Afghanistan, you'd never know it by the response of the Taliban.
If you want to see weakness and short sighted action, look no further than Dick Cheney. The US CIA supplied money, weapons and training to the Pakistan ISI in the 1980's. We trained the ISI in insurgency tactics to fight off the Soviets in Afghanistan. The ISI also trained the Mujahideen, the Afghani freedom fighters that were to be the insurgents in Afghanistan. The Secretary of Defense at the time was Dick Cheney. His involvement was all over the CIA's work to train the insurgents. The training of the insurgents was conducted by a little known Saudia Arabia man named Osama Bin Laden. The CIA worked to bring in radical Muslims from around the world to be trained in camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan to fight the Soviets. When the Soviets were eventually thrown out of Afghanistan and the pro-Soviet Afghan gov't was overthrown, the former Mujadiheen took over. Only now they called themselves the Taliban and one of the former leaders was running an organisation called Al-Quaeda. Now we are fighting the very insurgents that we trained in insurgent attacks. Apparently we trained them a little too well for our own good. Having said all that, I think that Dick Cheney is a good person to talk about weakness and making mistakes.
In 1989, The Washington Post writer George C. Wilson interviewed Cheney as the next Secretary of Defense; when asked about his five draft deferments during the Vietnam War, Cheney reportedly said, 'I had other priorities in the '60s than military service.'
When asked whether the Bush administration's focus on Iraq was responsible for the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, Cheney reportedly said, 'I basically don't,' without elaborating.
Cheney needs to go crawl back in his bunker and hide like he did for the last 7 years while he and his thugs at Halliburton robbed this country blind and ran the enconomy into the ground just like a jetliner on 911.
The ****** let Osama Bin Laden walk away because he never wanted him captured. He wanted a fulltime boogey man so he and his thugs could rob this country for every penney they could steal. Our country has never been weaker than when he and the nitwit Bush II left office.
Cheney brought us $4/gal gasoline which totally killed the economy in record time, need I say more.
If our President somehow wins this war, Cheney will have a negative thing to say. He does not like Mr Obama and nothing will make him see this President in any other light. The whole far right wing movement is based on their dislike for Mr Obama. They have no positive way to get from here to there. The sooner the Dem's realize this ,move on ,do what has to be done regardless of the right, the better. I will never look at the GOP as anything but a bunch of self serving nut cases. They keep saying stuff that is re-writing history to make Bush/Cheney look better. When in fact we are still in clean up mode from thier years in office. It makes a person wonder just what they are trying so hard to cover up too. I think we will suffer for years because of the Bush/Cheney years in office.
You need to dig for the relationship between the Bushes and the bin Ladens and Bush Sr. business dealings with Arabian oil interests that undermined the Texas oilmen but made Bush Sr. billions. And then the Soviet Afghan War where Bush Sr. used his friend and partner Osama bin Laden and then completely betrayed and abandoned him. These were the seeds for al-Qaeda when Osama vowed revenge for his betrayal. And then who had a predrawn war plan for Iraq? And who actually "let" 9/11 happen with full knowledge beforehand. It was a shell game to take our eye off the treasury so the rape could occur.

Given his heart condition after 3 heart attacks, when will Cheney's heart stop pumping?
