It is so sad to see her forced out into the public eye by her husband when she is so clearly very unready to meet the press. It makes Romney look bad. He is the tyrannical husband and she the submissive female.
She's like a child thrust into a role she's not ready to assume. Obviously she's been under Mitt's thumb her whole married life and only knows how to be the "perfect wife".
Ann does not volunteer to answer questions that concern many women. Her husband does not volunteer to serve his country in Vietnam after demonstrating in support of the war, instead choosing five years of academic and religious deferments. Mitt will not voluntarily release more than two years of tax returns(still only one year released,) unlike his father and President Obama, who released 12 years worth. Not one of the five Romney sons stepped up and volunteered to serve in the military during the last decade of war. Seems to be a family pattern. Yet we are told to just trust Mitt. Please spare us.

Personally, I think her choice to not allow a reporter to deflect her from the message she was trying to convey was politically astute. The most important part of this election is not these side show issues, but rather much more universal concerns like the economy, jobs, foreign policy, etc. These are pretty far down the priority list.

Otherwise, lets not.The fact that Ann Romney either doesn't have an opinion or chooses to keep her opinion under cover is the issue. The denial of (as you say) lesbians to marry is symptomatic of a broader issue, that is, the denial of human rights. And by the way, you didn't respond to my comment about your health care issues being challenged. I listened to Mitt Romney this morning on Meet the Press and it was interesting. When it was asked whether he could balance the budget, he was quick to say he would need eight years to do so. Hmmm...but the president is being judged because he couldn't get this country's financial house in order in 3 1/2 years. I am disheartened and appalled by the narrow focus of the conservatives. It's all about money. Always about money. When Mitt Romney spoke of the 'military' during his acceptance speech, he spoke about it in terms of the budget. Only the budget. The love of money is the root of all evil. Yes, we need money to live. I am not a wealthy woman, but I share what I have. I can't be happy when someone else is suffering, or their rights are taken away, or people are being disenfranchised by the rich and powerful. A big reason there are no jobs is because of greed in the Corporations and wall street. They took Martin Gecko's 'Greed is Good' message too literally. It's a complicated issue. But until we stop with the us and them mentality, in congress or the message boards, we will never get anywhere. And by the way, I am far from stupid.
Well Michaelz06, Not sure why you are ranting and raving if the facts you believe in make the case. Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton (to name two first ladies) have no problem with stating or having an opinion, even on controversial issues. You didn't address the issue I raised in my post about how you would respond to a bunch of democratic women deciding about men's issues on healthcare, which is gender biased to begin with. (I'm in medicine). And finally, having an honest debate is always welcomed...but name calling is just someone's way of trying to win their point without having a substantive argument. Stupid? Well, if you listened to Michelle Obama speak at the convention, you would have heard her views. Ann Romney either has no views, or does not want to reveal them for fear that they will not be popular and cost her husband the vote. One other possiblity, her opinions are wrapped in her husband's tax records hiding things they do not want the public to know. Go on FactChecker to see who is lying, JJBologna.
