Lyin' Ryan actually out slimes Robmee as the Wall Street plastic puppet who wants to steal from the poor to give to the rich. This is a reverse Robin Hood plain and simple. The Republicons are so far gone they are actually proud of this.
You have to give Ryan credit as the first Republican to actually put together a budget that both makes numeric sense and reflects Republican rhetoric. As such, it may elevate the the level of debate to something vaguely resembling substance. (But the question of why Romney has to hide with his taxes still isn't going away.)
Of course, surveys have shown that the public rejects every major provision of the budget, usually by a 2-to-1 margin or more. The public likes the idea of "small" government but completely rejects what it involves. The Ryan budget moves the debate from vague theory where the Republicans do well into the level of practical proposals where the Republicans get into trouble. Rejoice? Sure, if you're a Democrat.
For months the Cons have been complaining about the deficit and the national debt. So they pick a moron that will radically increase it on your dime. Are we REALLY that stupid?
Ryan has called for the privatization of Social Security and transforming Medicare from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution plan. -----------------------------------
I, for one, would not want my services to be run by corporations which only believe in the bottom line. We have seen what greed does to bankers. Too many times, business have trampled on its workers and cheat its customers. Do you really want to go back to the Victorian Age with the Robber Barons and exploited workers and ripped off customers?
How about reading "Should Government Be Run Like Business?" from Forbes Magazine: In theory, the market should provide goods and services to society in the most efficient and effective manner. Nonetheless, markets may be inherently unsuited to providing certain services. Whereas the profit motive drives the private sector, the public sector is supposed to strive for the public good. The arena of public safety is especially instructive. In certain cases, actions undertaken to achieve economic efficiency may endanger public welfare:
I know that I have told you there is nothing wrong, in fact it should be commended for posters to provide proof, evidence and facts in order to support you opinions but...BUT.. you have to be careful where you get these quotes from. The above copy and paste is from The Western Center for Journalism, written by a certain Steve Baldwin. Oh oh. Sweeetie, you might as well have copied and pasted from Ann Coulter. This guy Baldwin is completely crazy. He believes that the Federal government is involved with mass propaganda and "experimentation" taking over the entire school system. He also believes that the government is forcing condoms on school children, encouraging they to have have and have more sex. If you want to look at how schools are being used for any political agenda look at Texas where Thomas Jefferson isn't even mentioned..why? ..because of his thought s on Religious Freedom. As for The Western Center for Journalism? Is a tabloid hate media outlet. It continuously writes conspiracy theories. It was one of the biggest sources for Obama's birth mother is Kenyan. Please!!!!
Eddie Munster for VP? Really??? The Mittens and Eddie Show?? A bow-hunting, catfish-noodling Ayn Rand (atheist libertarian radical writer) loving VP? Just what Mittens needs to make the Republican ticket SO BIZARRE that only the most deranged Obama hater could possibly vote for it.
There aren't many things that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the "Nuns on the Bus" agree on, but they DO agree that Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity" is a horrendous, anti-Christian attack on what Jesus called "the least of my brethren."
THAT's what we have to look forward to from a Romney-Ryan ticket!
I see all the blogger wanabes are out in force. So if Ryan is such a horrible pick and Romney a dud, then you folks have nothing to worry about, right? But what you fail to consider is, compared to what? Compare Ryan to the articulate Joe Biden. Or the professorial vs. businss skills of Obama and Romney. Like the article says, one side is very wrong. We'll see. But I would suggest the debates are going to be fun to watch regardless of which side you are on.
But for now go ahead and let it out, vent that frustration.
It's been pretty common for politicians to release bad information on Friday so talk dies down before the next work day (for most office workers). It's interesting to note the overwhelming number of comments that think this was a horrible choice. Nice! People hate it and Romney seems worried about it as indicated by his announcement timing.
