You're right vsmit, they were in control. That is the very time both the democratic congress and the President tried so fruitlessly to compromise with the part of no, and, that is why so many democrats and independents today are upset and are encouraging them to have a backbone and stand up for the voters, since it is so obvious that republicans will never compromise under ANY conditions.

Patty Murray can whistle Dixie ! Lets see how many Democrats are willing to follow her over the edge ? They are not going to retake the House and there is a good chance they lose the Senate and the WH. Lets hope so , for the sake of the country ! Two of my favorite presidents in modern times were Democrats so it has NOTHING to do with party affiliation. btw JFK and Carter are the heroes ! JFK LOWERED taxes to grow the economy and Carter appointed Volker to tame inflation which cost him re election . That , to me, is heroic ! Obama does not have a heroic bone in his body ! The Democrats would be well served to dump him ASAP !

It is time to stop supply side economics. It is time to actually work for the country, Mitch Mcconnel only priority is to remove the current occupant of the White House and he does not care how much pain and suffering his party causes. He answers to a higher authority the rich. We need to reveres the damage done by Mcconel's party, and we have to do it now.

The senator did not say that. A Republican said that. Read it again.
So, why don't the Republicans give the middle-class the continuing cut, and then when they win the WH and sweep the House and Senate, they can cut taxes on the richest Americans to 0% or whatever they want?
