I guess you forget that there are more deportations happening during Obama's administration than any others. why don't you do some research and find out the #'s and then make a real educated comment instead of a fauxnoise full of bull one.

mysticpizza - Syracuse University's TRAC system (Transactional Records Clearinghouse) evaluated Obama's immigration enforcement record. Here is what they had to say:

Agency's Immigration Enforcement Claims Not Supported By Own Data

"When compared with various public statements by the agency, however, TRAC's analysis of this limited case-by-case information provided found vast discrepancies. Among them: ICE statements claimed almost five times more individual apprehensions than revealed in the data, as well as 24 times more individuals deported and 34 times more detentions".

Obama's DHS and sub department ICE have been ginning up the numbers to make themselves look good.

sounds like racial profiling. wonder why the law does not specify that anyone stopped by law enforcement, for any legal reason, must prove citizenship regardless of their skin color. there are illegals from china, russia, ukraine, and other nation states besides hispanics from central and south america. cubans are given a free pass if they make it to florida so why not others? everyone should be required to prove citzenship if stopped by law enforcement for any reason from tickets to whatever.

Immigration in the US has turned into grand standing politics. All over the world people migrate from dirt poor countries to wealthier ones legally or not.Where I'm living now, in SE Asia, we have borders with 3 undeveloped countries. Try that one out.

It's about stupid is what it is, and excessively racist. If you don't live in the Southwest, maybe you just don't get it: we have brown people here. They've lived here their whole lives. They lived here before white people got here. Now Mrs. Hernandez down the street, whose grandfather was a scout for the U.S. Cavalry in the 1800s, who was born here and lived here all her life, is subject to Gestapo tactics because she's brown. And it isn't my imagination that Arizona is racist, either. What was the last state to recognize Martin Luther King Day? Ignorant right-wing racists, period. I'm 100% opposed to enabling illegal immigration; I'm also 100% opposed to cops harassing Mrs. Hernandez because of her ******* skin color..

52%?

You know, the issue is Constitutional, unless it polls at 80% and ends up as an amendment, it doesn't matter what the popular support is.

An amendment only needs 51% of 38 states. Still very unlikely though.

Make that 63%, because another 11% said it didn't go far enough, which means they support everything that's already in it.

I agree about the employers needing to be punished harshly. But I also believe they will keep coming as long as we offer free medical, housing and food. Shouldn't those also go to jail?
----------------------------
we are the only country in the world that doesn't offer "free" medical to all of its citizens. Of course it isn't free...its paid for with taxes. I am wondering if the 850 dollars I pay a month for marginal coverage (with no pre-existing conditions)wouldnt be better suited as taxes for a single payer option. Medicare only has a 5% overhead compared to 20 to 30 percent for private insurance companies with their hundred million salaries for their CEO's which are the real death panels.
maybe you can give me some real facts about this free housing.
btw
You can get free medical in Mexico as a US citizen. I have done it when I had a surfing injury. They do'nt have a DaVinci machine but it was excellent care non the less.

As long as you have a visa. Try looking at the treatment of illegals coming over THEIR southern border.
As for the rest start with the sanctuary movement, safe houses etc. Some more well meaning than others I admit, but still a magnet.

No, we aren't. You must mean we are the only industrialized society not to have national healthcare.

After WW2 England went with a national policy, and it works well.
Japan, Germany, Italy, the Axis forces got, national healthcare.

During the war, FDR, author of the "NewDeal" which changed the constitution so the average american can live in a society without the fear of a future in poverty...He also was championing his 2nd Bill of Rights, which would have been a great thing for the average american. He died, and that dream died with him because the republicans would have nothing of it. I urge you all to see his speech, it was the state of the union address, his last, he had to give from the white house due to his failing health.
It's on Youtube.

Well there you go then. Never mind that maybe 1 in 10 know anything about whats in the law, lets take a poll. I'm betting that if they took a poll back in the 1940's, most Americans thought the discrimination laws were "about right" I think its time to fire some of CBS's news analysis people.

I used to think the ignorance in this country was depressing.
Why bother myself anymore?
The truth is that the folks who responded to this poll are not smart enough to adequately wipe themselves after defecating.
They cant even begin to see the duplicity and deception of the republican party.
The right wing noise machine is a master of appealing to this base level of faux patriotism when it comes to these "foreign devils" who want "YOUR" jobs.
Well
If these republican biz owners have their say they will have your jobs.
They know dam good and well that the illegals will keep coming no matter how hard you try and round them up if someone is hiring/
guess who is hiring? but wants to trick you out of your vote anyway?
get a clue blue collar America.
The only nway to cure this problem is to attack it at its roots. Put the folks hiring in jail. People with money hate jail, They cant spend it there.
