jasoncgalvez - When it comes to leading our nation, the character of our president is more important than his religious beliefs. By your standard, anyone other than a Christian is not acceptable to lead our country. That leaves out a lot of people including atheists.

If you are willing to get pulled into a cult that says a lot about your character.

jasoncgalvez - I am not a Mormon but I respect the religious views of other faiths and the right of people not to believe in religion. Romney's religious views will in no way affect my views. Our nation was founded on the idea of religious freedom and our Constitution does not have a litnus test for the religions of our political leaders.

Someone forgot to include polygamy in their study.

There are over a hundred polygamous Mormon sects where tens of thousands of innocent women and children are stripped of their human rights—sexually, physically, and emotionally abused. The question must be answered: How will a Mormon president protect the rights of women and children in the U.S.? For details watch the doc film "Banking On Heaven". Most libraries carry it.

Some of these comments are unenlightening and full of errors. If you want to know what Mormons believe, ask a Mormon and not an anti-Mormon. From my perspective (a former U.S.Marine and a lifelong conservative), Romney has (1) been successful in the public and private sectors, (2)raised a great family, (3) been without scandal, (4) served his church and its members, and many outside his church as well, all without compensation, (5) governed a liberal state and in the process maintained good relations with both major parties, (6) created jobs (sometimes you have to close an unsuccessful business to build a successful one), and (7) arrived at sensitive positions after considerable thought and not on a knee-jerk basis for popularity reasons. He will be a strong and thoughtful leader.

So what if he is a Mormon Bishop. That doesn't mean he can't be our President.

Pretty stupid huh? Not really up on sarcasm though - are you?

AOCGUY - I didn't realize you were being sarcastic. There are people who are serious when they make that kind of statement.

ask, I thought I was being a bit over the top to be confused with being serious. I would not vote for Mitt for a variety of reasons but I couldn't care less where or who he worships. I was just trying to highlight how STUPID this topic is.

People should vote 1) for someone who has the skills necessary to lead this country and 2) has the same vision they have as to what direction we should move in.

I for one believe Romney has the skills I just don't share his vision.

As a Christian I will not be voting for Mr. Romney. I believe he has the right to run for office but I will not vote for him. His religion is one of deceit, anti-female, anti-people of color. Romney is against everything Christ commanded. As all deceivers he is quite clever but it does not change what he and Mormonism is: deceit.

myoleman says:
Most of America's so-called 'evangelicals' are so devoid of a real knowledge of what real, Bible-based Christianity is, that a deceiver like Romney has little trouble gaining them over to his camp. As the apostle Paul said, "I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness; but you are already doing that. I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. "But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough." 2 Cor. 11.1
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! Galatians 1:8

@ slownewsday_4pres, --all dogmatic religion, that is, except the real, eternal-life generating faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:18

You seem to know a lot about the Mormons. Why do they keep baptizing holocaust Jews like Anne Frank and other dead people, including Mitt's own atheist Father in law? Is lack of respect for other people's beliefs part of Mormon culture?

jasoncgalvez says:
The Mormon faith is a cult started by a man in upstate New York trying to fleece people out of their money and have sex with their wives and children.

That man, Joseph Smith, claimed Jesus Christ came to him in human form and proclaimed the United States as the "new" Jerusalem.

Mormons believe in multiple gods and polygamy. It is a sham religion used by the few to take from the many to make themselves wealthy (sound familiar?).

A vote for a Mormon is to completely and shamelessly renounce and mock Christianity.

A vote for a Mormon to lead this country is akin to spitting directly in to Christ's face.
