We are living the end result of over 30 years of failed Republicon Reaganomics. And the idiots are still pushing their failed agenda. Only this time they have the Wall Street barons behind them as well as the corrupt corporate "supreme" court. I think we are all toast. Get ready for all your kids to work at Wal Mart or join the military to finish the job of world conquest.
Or you could be innovative and start a company that provides a good or service that will help the economy grow, instead of complaining so much. Your hot air alone surely is hurting the planet.
Why would Obama care about the recession when he is flying around the country visiting his rich and hollywood friends. This is not too much different than the comments he made in 2008 about country folks and their guns, he is just so above regular folks, which is why he has no idea of how many folks are hurting because of his failure to lead.
Nice that Obama and his wife, friends, extended family get to go on million dollar vacations paid for by taxpayers. When was your last vacation. Don't you think if your POTUS was so great he would be concerned about the 99% that haven't had a vacation in years. Sorry he is all talk to his followers but he will throw you under the bus just like he has so many others.
In spite of all the right wing pants wetting around here, the economy is getting better and they are losing any ground they have to stand on in the coming election. They never had any anyway. They want to go back to the very same policies that created this mess in the first place.

libertyfirst1776_ May 11, 2012 3:13 PM EDT Bush presided over 50+ months of economic growth, after the attacks of 9/11, and averaged about 5% unemployment. If you look at the timeline, you will see the economy melted after the Demos took Congress in 2006, and oversaw the meltdown of Fannie and Freddie - the GOP-predicted nexus of our economic collapse.
Bush is responsible to the point that he jumped on the social-engineering bandwagon with the Demos. Social engineering is an attempt to obscure the undesirable aspects of reality, and it seldom leads to positive results. Reality #1 - life is unfair. Reality #2 - there will always be poor people. Throwing trillions at these fundamental realities is foolish and changes nothing. Wake up.

Nice numbers but statistics formed by political interests are like a bikini. What they show is interesting but what they conceal is vital. First of all, the price of oil jumped to $150 a barrel during Bush's watch and the first jolt at the gas pumps was felt. Economists have long agreed that you can evaluate the real economy by watching the price of gold. In 2006, gold jumped up $600 dollars as the market started to learn about the wrongs of banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders and bogus trust funds. Even before 9/11, housing prices started to rise and the 4.22% annualized rate that Clinton passed to Bush soon ballooned to 8.26%. There is no responsible economist in the world who would claim that an administration could cause a massive recession in the first year of its existence and yet the recession hit hardest in 2008, just when Bush was trying to justify his personal vendetta war in Iraq and the deployments into Afghanistan.
The economy was doing ok until the Democrats took Congress in 2006. Don't forget that Bush had to deal with a frenzied, lunatic, liberal media that attacked him relentlessly, and a Congress that sat on their thumbs to make it appear that things were getting worse under Bush.
At the end of the day, you just have to ask yourself - was I doing better when Bush was President, or when Obama was President? The inmates have been running the asylum for 3.5 years now, and predictably, there is chaos to show for it.
Obama wasted the opportunity of a lifetime because he just couldn't mask his radical roots any further. Instead of offering business a hand up, he slapped them down with his divisive, Alinski-style attacks. Businesses STILL don't know what is coming down the pike in terms of costs, regulations and taxes. The Democrat Congress hasn't passed a budget in over 3 years. That is unprecedented.
Much of what we are dealing with economically is self-inflicted by Obama. His administration had the fewest number of advisors with practical business experience ever, and the most who self-identified as socialist or communist. That may be a recipe for "transformation" but it certainly isn't a recipe for economic growth.
You are partly correct & grossly guilty of misleading readers. Bush made 3 separate formal requests of congress to review the deteriorating results of the Affordable Housing Act (Clinton 1994). They declined. Gold did rise, but because of obama's stimulus & QE I & II the housing market got propped up rather than allow the market to correct itself, which it always has and would have except for the interference, gold rose to $1882 because of inflation and people feeling the need for a safe haven in major part due to obama's health care & thousands of new regulations. I agree with your last statement, but every economist agrees obama prolonged our recovery & stifled businesses from hiring or expanding. Bush might have had a vendetta but obama has made military decisions for pure political gains, despite military advice to the contrary. Let's not forget under Bush our debt was under $10 trillion including 9-11, Katrina, the introduction of Homeland Security & the TSA, while under obama the debt, in JUST HIS 1ST TERM, will INCREASE 70% to $17 TRILLION. His radical ideology, lack of experience & inability to lead (but campaign to divide) America is NOT a winning combination.
Excuse me but wasn't the Republicons who stood in the way of everything Obama tried to do? From the auto bailout to the stimulus to the health plan which all created/creates jobs the numbskull GOP was against it.
Well, the bailout screwed the bondholders and rewarded the unions by handing the companies over to them. And Obamacare is a massive overreach of government control over our lives. Marxists have long touted that to control healthcare is to control the people. Do you know that there are more than 1400 tax increases buried in Obamacare, and they are slated to begin in 2014? This is why anyone with a brain cell left stands against Obamacare.
Of course he ""forgets" about the magnitude of the recession" because he has not and will not ever experience it. What, his wife made $300K at one point and he makes what?? I am absolutely sure the laws he proposes to tax on the "rich" will not include him, his family or his relatives or his friends like, Rev. White or Mr. Farrakhan OR any of those wonderful celebrities we choose to elevate or at least the news media does. The celebrities feign concerned about the poor and disadvantaged while they live in the own castles. Oh they give, but it never hurts their standard of living and then they think they have something political to say and ask us taxpayers to give??
''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.'''
The Republican broke the economy then tries to blame Obama for not fixing it fast enough. Why not blame the Bush and the GOP for breaking the first place.

Everyone needs to google the Citibank Plutacracy memo and read it. It tells you exactly what the 1% are doing and how. It also tells us how to stop it from happening. It is the power of the VOTE. This election is even more important than 2008. Much more. If the Republicans get control of all three branches you can kiss this country goodbye. Look what they haven't done to clean up their mess. They blame Obama because he didn't clean it up fast enough. What a bunch of scum they are.
You are insane. Obama's policies will make EVERYONE poor. There will always be poor people, and there will always be an income gap, so you have to get past that. Life isn't fair, but you have an opportunity to succeed in this country. We desparately need leadership that respects the rugged individualism of the American people, and doesn't try to replace God with Government. It's just a charade to pretend that government can provide better for you than you can.

Not much of a defense given how pathetic "trickle down" has been.
Given our posts, which usually go into more detail than yours, I'd re-evaluate your "brain disorder" if I were you...
Or others?
Spare us the partisan manure.
