Mittens Robmee is just a Republicon fall guy who is a distraction while the failed and obsolete Republicon Party of the Top 1% tries to hold onto the Congress. I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell the way they are going.
Robmme is living up to his name supporting that idiot Ryan's budget. What a scam artist loser that guy is.
Romney since the very beginning has surrounded and sought out the support of the Bush family/administrations. He hired GWB advisors in the beginning, he had un-official backing in the very beginning with Cheney, Rove, Daniels, Sununu and Jeb and then one by one they all came forward with official backing. There is no doubt the VP will be a Bush person. Romney has said he admires Cheney and would seek a VP just like him so it could be Cheney. But my money is on Jeb. By selecting Jeb it sets Jeb up for a run in 2016.
DJ332013: "Good, you and I will go through it page by page tonight."
Sorry DJ, but I have much better things to do like rearrange my sock drawer, than waste time with you and ryan's budget that has no chance of ever becoming law!
Besides, you still haven't answered my question about ryan's budget:
Why would anyone 'think' that not balancing the federal budget until 2040 is a good thing?
I see you failed to answer my question yet again, just like you failed to answer "retm-w's" question -- "DJ if you read ryans plan, then what happens to those on Medicare from 2019 when according to all in the gop medicare will be broke"?
By not answering questions directed towards you, and only able to ask other questions about Obama or the Dems, just proves how one-sided you are, and unable to answer questions directed towards you!
arthanyel: "Every non-partisan economist (and many partisan ones) say that we must do FIVE THINGS to balance the budget long term.
1) We MUST raise taxes 2) We MUST cut discretionary spending 3) We MUST cut defense spending 4) We MUST cap medical cost growth at the rate of inflation (which includes potentially re-structuring Medicare and Medicaid) 5) We MUST re-structure Social Security over the long term, as the number of beneficiaries is steadily rising and the number of contributors is steadily declining
I agree with those PhD economists that tell us we must do all 5 things, and the reason I say ryan is an economics neophyte, is because he's to ideological as a teabagging extremist to admit the need for #1 and #3 -- BOTH of which MUST BE DONE, along with the others!
Actually 'lyin' ryan's' budget doesn't touch #5 either, nor does he address the spiraling cost of health care, and only talks about cutting spending to Medicare and especially Medicaid.
All ryan wants to do is #2 on STEROIDS, particularly hitting the poor especially hard. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates that 62 percent of ryan's cuts come from programs for low-income Americans and 37 percent of the tax benefits go to the few Americans earning more than $1 million.
This is exactly why ryan's budget takes 28-years under perfect conditions (not until 2040) to balance the federal budget, by ONLY cutting spending -- discretionary spending at that, without "defense" spending cuts -- and 62% of the cuts come from programs for low-income Americans.
There will be a big fund raising party for Mrs.Romney hosted by Donald the Trump..What a laugh. What next? Trump on the ticket or Mitt on The Apprentice looking for a job.
leftyintexas: "Do any of you out there know if Ryan has detailed his budget cuts or is he just pulling numbers out of his butt to make himself sound like he has a definite plan in mind?"
Yes, 'lyin' ryan' has detailed all his spending cuts for the lower and middle classes, but has not detailed even ONE tax loophole that he would end in order to lower the top tax rate from 35% to 25%.
In Ryan's budget, Social Security is untouched. The cuts to Medicaid and other health programs for the poor are twice the size of those to Medicare. The cuts to education, to food stamps, to transportation infrastructure and to pretty much everything else besides defense are draconian. As for the tax reform component, it cuts taxes on millionaires by more than $250,000, but it doesn't name a single loophole or tax break that Ryan and the republicans would close.
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates that 62 percent of the cuts come from programs for low-income Americans and 37 percent of the tax benefits go to the few Americans earning more than $1 million.
While education is our future, 'lyin ryan's wants massive cuts to education: Lower-income students are more likely to go to public universities and community colleges. But lately, state budget cuts are leading to tuition increases. The Ryan budget would further decimate state budgets, because one of the areas of the budget he hits the hardest is 'non-security discretionary spending,' of which 35 to 40 percent of that category is aid to cities and state governments. Normally, you would increase Pell grants to help with this. But he's slashing Pell grants, too!
Under the ryan proposal, only the wealthy would be able to afford health care and education for their families!
DJ332013: "Well I am going to open the site up anyway later this afternoon."
Who cares, since opening and closing any site just so you feel more superior, only makes you look like a control freak looking for the attention you crave so much.
Instead of posting all your anti-Dem, pro-republiCON B.S. here, why not go to rowdy's site and be a good little boy......see ya!
Again, can anyone answer my question:
Why does ryan 'think' that using only spending cuts for the poor and middle classes to fund even bigger tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, and not being able to balance the budget until 2040, is being fiscally responsible?
romney should pick former secretary of state rice. she has foreign policy experience, nsa, intell groups, and knows how capital hill works. she is a woman, a person of color, intelligent. all wins for a vp, romney should not overlook rice. rice should be his first choice and if she turns him down then onto the next one. if romney picks a palin, republicans who are moderates and centrists will vote for obama/biden again. rubio, christie, jeb bush should not even be on the possibles list.
