AOCGUY says:
What really bothers me about Romney is that he really is the best of what's left yet he continues to make the same mistake - making comments that emphasize his total lack of knowledge of what it is like to not be rich. I know he is rich and I know he earned it through hard work. I don't begrudge him success and in fact see his success as a positive thing. But I would have thought by now he would have realized that these insensitive comments aren't helping.

At least with Santorum and Gingrich they have excuses, one is certifiable and the other is imperially arrogant beyond belief.

As for Paul, I'm sure he is a nice guy and I even like some of his libertaian views but he is not going to be the nominee.

Why is it our media thinks success should be something we mock? Maybe they are puppeting Pres. Obama's feelings towards those that have worked hard. If you dont like success Russia and Cuba will take you in.

You vote for Romney for the same reason people wanted George Washington to lead the continental army. Not because he's like you, but specifically because he's so UNLIKE you. We have enormous challenges before us and we need someone with exceptions talents, skills and insights to LEAD the country.

The irony about these criticisms is that they could just as easily be directed at Barack Obama, who is about as culturally black as I am. I can't relate to the man at all and that really doesn't bother me all that much. What bothers me is that he is incompetent and misinformed, and his arrogance prevents him from rectifying his personal failings.

You actually made me laugh this morning by mentioning Romney and Washington in the same sentence. Romney doesn't possess anything special, sorry to burst your bubble.

tryreading says:
This article is ridiculous for a few reasons. First, Romney's rich. We all know it, so why get bent out of shape about these comments? Also, I don't expect any presidential candidate to know everything about everything. I doubt Obama is very up on NASCAR. Many Americans aren't. Who cares? As long they keep an open mind about other people's interests and are willing to learn, I don't care that they like everything I like or are knowledgeable about my particular niche in the world.

However, why do candidates try to make themselves out to be something they aren't? If you don't hunt, watch NASCAR, have never worked in a factory or whatever, don't try to pretend you "know" what it's like. The people who do those things know a faker. Just admit you aren't knowledgeable about that topic, but you are willing to learn about it and listen to them. What I think most Americans want is HONESTY!

I think it is a shame that voters prefer someone they would like on a beer "summit" to competence. We have big problems in this country and if you need a friend, get a dog, don't vote for a Buddy for President. Palin should have run and made these voters very happy. If you are a Santorum voter, make sure you like his policy positions and don't mind his extreme views on the place of women, ask yourself if Independents will vote for him and can he win? If those answers are postive, then vote for him but surely not because he is a nice guy and don't like Romney for his success.

My wife drives two Cadillacs, I enjoy firing people, corporations are people, I'll bet you $10,000.00, I don't care about poor people, my friends own NASCAR teams, and by the way, I'm a candidate of the people. (wink, wink)

I don't see the big deal in this article. So what if Romney has friends who own NASCAR teams? At least Romney didn't say that we have 57 states.

How sad that you clowns on the right ALWAYS have to fall back on Obama's ONLY flub.

Palin makes 1000 errors speaking, and this ONE comment is used to defend all of them.
Bachman makes 10000 errors speaking, and this ONE comment is used to defend all of them.
Perry makes 5000 errors speaking.....

This is the guy that the GOP wants for president?

He's got money, and keeps flaunting it in everyone's faces, while taunting and teasing them about it?
