What I find curious is that Virginia is about to bestow personhood to any extraneous human zygote, when a mere 8 score years ago they wouldn't do the same for any grown human male or female of Africanor mixed heritage.
Now, our resident Constitutional Romanticist (you know who I mean...the fellow that preaches free enterprise and diligent work, yet spends his entire work day blogging on these threads) applauds this measure and tells all non-Virginians to "mind your own business - we'll take care of our own". Seems that line was heard a time or two about 8 score ago, as well. There was a great war fought precisely because of those sentiments.
Then the deluded fellow has the timerity to claim that the "Founder's" would have come to the same conclusion he has. I believe it is Freudian his mispelling, since "The Founders", although agreeing on several principles and protections, were not of a SINGLE mind on just about anything.
Frankly, Ican imagine a prominant Virginian by the name of Jefferson being overwhelmed with curiousity and experimentation if he had known about DNA, and growth of Zygotes, Blastula, embryos and such, since he possessed such a hungry mind for all things scientific. He was a model for the liberal intellectual prototype.
I am also a Virginian of sorts...yet of a more Northerly locale.
I can see why senior CBS correspondent Andrea Mitchell was stunned by the outrageously sexist comment by uber-conservative Foster Friess: this sort of male chauvinist pig was presumably extinct years ago. Reporter Madison, as well, must be shaking her head like half the population in the United States as Republican after Republican strides up to the microphones to profess their loyalty to outdated principles unseen for decades. "It's not O.K." whines Rick Santorum when asked about using contraceptives to prevent pregnancies, taking the proverbial religious high road off a political cliff with women voters. Imagine how a 'President Santorum' would act: cutting all Health Department funds for distribution of free contraceptives preventing not only unwanted births but the spread of VD and AIDS; returning to the disastrous Bush-era policies of 'abstinence only' sex ed that increased not only these horrible diseases but abortions, too, as youth had no other alternatives. We do not need a president with hang-ups about sex, or one who is married to his church-dictated dogma around women. What next, Republican men? Are you going to bring back 'slapping your wife around' as a good way to keep her in line?
Apologize, why? I think it's amusing. I'm a woman. I think Americans think too much about sex.
"WHAT, you mean sex isn't, like, a REASON for LIVING??"
Exactly.
I also think that our society is intolerant. A guy can't even make a joke without it getting splashed across headlines and people screaming for an apology?? Get over it.
And, it seems to me that the Media is just aching to make a mountain out of a molehill because he's friends with a Presidential candidate. Now THAT is offensive.
perhaps you feel this way for a lack of estrogen; no testosterone, no estrogen, nothing. I suggest you get some batteries and a toy, maybe your might change.
If grandpa makes this kind of joke at Sunday dinner, it's offensive but easy to laugh off. Grandpa isn't giving millions of dollars to help elect Rick Santorum, one of the greatest minds of the 13th Century, to the Presidency. This jerk is doing exactly that, with the intention of making birth control harder to get & more expensive. This nonsense is a slap in the face of anyone who doesn't subscribe to their religious dogma.
Santorum's election would be a disaster for low income women & their families.
Santorum' radical views on birth control will be his demise - I am happily married and have three great kids - My wife and I now choose to use birth control - I am okay with his devotion to Catholosism and respect HIS morals - But his public stance is just over the top on this one.
This guy knows nothing about either women or sex. Of course any woman can hold an aspirin between her knees and still get pregnant. All she has to do is place an aspirin between her knees, close them and bend over.
There is more to life than the missionary position.
Why does Mitchell have to try "...to catch my breath from that, Mr. Friess, frankly..."? As a reporter she does not expect anyone to have beliefs different from hers? Tsk...Tsk...
Liberals must also be proud to comprise 84% of the prison population and 87% of high school drop outs. Yes, I'm a Republican with a high school diploma, college degree, morals, ethics, no police record, a job, and I love women. ************************************
Those percetages are a flat out lie. 90pct of the prison population believe in God. Yes, I'm a liberal with a high school dipoloma, college, morals, ethics, no police record, married 44 years to the same man, and no, you do not love women.

Come back into the Union, Old Dominion.
Its full of holes like his campaign.

Step away from the TV. Turn off Faux Noise. There's nothing to be seen there.
Unless of course you believe these other facties that keep coming out of the extremist propaganda mills:
- "Planned Parenthood spends 92% of its money providing abortions" (Reality" less than 3%)
- "One fifth of the federal budget is spent on foreign aid" (Reality: less than 1%)
- "PBS gets 5% of all tax money" (Reality: a tiny fraction of 1%)

If your idea of "love" is patronizing us, we DON'T "love" YOU.
