"Conservatism", the ideology itself is pure evil. Profits before people is the bottom line. Mix it with religious ideology and you get the current "religious right" that has taken over so much of the USA; politics, military, foreign policy etc.

Civil Rights, Woman's Suffrage, Abortion Rights, Evolution, Separation of Church and State, Public Education, Immigration Reform, and Racial Integration, are just a few examples of where "conservative Christians" have been, as it is said; "on the wrong side of history".

Don't expect any of this to change. "We the People" is NOT "Profits before People", conservative Christianity is not good for this country and only supports war, oppression, inequality and misery.

Today's "conservatives" resemble the negative version of Socialism they so love to demonize. Here are some examples:

Republican Conservative Christian Sarah Palin enthusiastically practices socialism, Alaska-style: http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/581484.html

Republican Conservative Christian Rep. Bachmann's clinic takes in thousands from "socialized medicine": http://minnesotaindependent.com/57982/michele-bachmann-profits-from-socialized-medicine

While it was fashionable to run on anti-federal government platforms this campaign cycle, it is hard to ignore that Alaska has a notorious love-hate relationship with federal cash. And many might say that the relationship, for the large part, actually falls more on the "love" side: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/19/business/19stimulus.html

GOP/Republican Senator John Ensign of Nevada who railed against healthcare and earmarks got $960,000 healthcare earmark: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/revealed-republican-senator-railed-healthcare-earmarks-960000-healthcare-earmark/

Conservative Republican Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist Maryland physician elected to Congress on an anti-Obamacare platform surprised fellow freshmen at a Monday orientation session by demanding to know why his government-subsidized health care plan takes a month to kick in: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1110/45181.html

Palin has never said that she hates America. She doesn't! She, like me and millions more of us, doesn't like what America has become. She wants to change it and she wants to change it for the better. That is not hating America! That's loving it!

The eventual republican nominee is moving to the right and probably will have to edge back toward the center in the fall. The farther he must go to the fringe to win the nod, however, the tougher his task.

While caribou barbi may think that catering to the tea party set and rush limbaugh is the only way to win the nomination, but the eventual nominee is going to pay a huge price for that approach with swing voters -- those deciding the 2012 election -- in the fall.

Republicans don't hate their rivals. And I am not sure why Michelle Obama and Chelsea are on your list. They have been treated much better in the media than President Bush's daughters, wife and mother.

You people should really take a close look at your comments. All of you, both liberals and conservatives spew hate regularly on this and other sites. How about instead make constructive comments about the ideas put forth by the candidates on both sides.

Really? When did any liberal commentator say anything about Laura Bush? In contrast, look at the conservative commentators talk about Michelle Obama.

Hate them? Naw. Wish they would run for Prez. Both Coulter and Palin.

The entertainment value would be worth it alone.

nearl451 I doubt you'd really find it very entertaining if it actually happened! You'll think the sky fell in on you! I also doubt you'll be laughing much on election night in November when the Republicans make a clean sweep of it and win control of the House, the Senate, and the White House. You'll be on your floor crying and kicking and screaming like a spoiled two year old who didn't get their way!

I'm the one who'll be laughing! I'm also going to enjoy being on the internet that night and reading all of the crybaby comments you liberals will be leaving! I'm going to LOVE IT! I'm going to be laughing and gleefully typing "I TOLD YOU SO! I TOLD YOU SO! I - TOLD - YOU - SO!"

..Many good people have kids that go astray becuase of the bad influences around them especially if they associate with the kids of the left who are bad influences.
At least Bristol has straighted out.
More than I can say about the kids of the immoral left and Democrats

So this is how you see anyone you disagree with. Weird. How do you propose protecting the "innocent rightwing children" from these "bad influences"? ROTFLMAO.

Leftwing_Lunatics: "The wars had nothing to do with the financial melt down"

While that is basically true, it was the huge expansion of the military-industrial complex which includes national security during bushworld, that is the main driver of our spending problem which continues today, and the incessant need of the republicans led by lobbyist grover nitwitt to keep lowering the income tax rates -- especially for the wealthiest Americans from 91% in 1964 to 35% today -- which along with major corporations paying little or no taxes, has lowered our federal revenue to the post-WW II LOW of 14% of GDP!

Too bad the current republicans know nothing about fiscal responsibility, and only want to keep pushing their very failed GOP economic policies that hurt America like 'starve the beast' insanity, and their need to keep pushing more deregulation that led to lack of oversight of the financial sector that caused the economic collapse!

Obviously caribou barbi and the rest of the shrill teabagging extremists know absolutely nothing about history or economic policies.

Reagan insider: 'GOP destroyed U.S. economy'

David Stockman, President Ronald Reagan's director of the Office of Management and Budget, wrote in "Four Deformations of the Apocalypse," how the economic decisions of the GOP during the past 40 years has destroyed not just the economy and capitalism, but the America dream.

Tell me what is so smart about 16T in debt and Obama budgets with deficits of over 1T as far as you can see? The tea Party is about keeping more of what you earn and less government spending. I think YOU are stupid to want to give up your hard earned money to the government.....unless you depend on the the government!!! Tell me now who is "smart"?
