Dude nice try but the economy was just fine until the dems came to town took control of both houses and 2007 and destroyed it. They refused to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack and they are the ones that pushed the banks to loan to people that could not afford it. The greatest problem in America are people like you who are totally ignorant of the real facts.

Who broke President George W. Bush's veto pen?

Oh what a big surprise. Obama caves to the religious-right again.

Every Republican in this country should vote for him, since he's one of yours...just in the closet about it.

It's not really any different than it was before. It just doesn't state on paper that the Catholic Church as employer is paying for contraceptives (but they kind of are - since any insurance program will cover these).

It's a simple face-saving move without any substantive change in reality.

If our government can afford to send millions/billions to every other country on this planet, then the U.S. should be able to help it's own people.
We the tax payers pay for insurance for all our government officials, what difference is it paying for the people!
If my tax dollars support every government official, I'd rather support the people!
Your going to support them all the same!
Many working people are just getting by and are thankful for that but they still can't afford medical insurance.

News flash: This is the government forcing insurance providers to give "free" contraceptives, which are not "free". They will be paid for by everyone owning an insurance policy. So, what has the government given for "free" - nothing. It is a shell game.

Let's face it: some people "work" for the government (think of your local DMV), and their taxpayer-subsidized, inflated wages and unreal benefits represent theft from taxpayers. In addition, some people go through school eating the paste and picking their noses, fail to develop themselves, and so wind up in...

We have another President Obama shell game. Now it is "free" contraceptives, paid for by insurance providers, or rather by increases in health care premiums of those purchasing the policies. So, what has President Obama given out for "free" - nothing. Because nothing is free.

Back in December, President Obama was giving people a "payroll tax cut" for 2 months, which was really a defunding of Social Security, which was paid for by a permanent increase in fees on home mortgages. So, what kind of break was President Obama giving people - nothing, because nothing is "free".

President does all this twisted game in an attempt to appear that he is doing something for the American people. The sad thing is that we have a lot of people in this country who can't see past their noses.

And your insurance premium is paying for the uninsured now to the tune of $1000.00 per year. The more uninsured the more insurance companies raise premiums.

retm-w: At least then it wasn't our government screwing over the American people.

So it's OK for a corporation or business to screw over people. Right out of the republican bible.

YAAAWWWN. What not copyingand pasting your same posts from yesterday.

The President just took the issue off of your plate and you were all planning a feast.

Just wait until the payroll tax cut extension debate comes up again in a month. He'll own your butts again. LOL.

Paraphrasing St. Paul, "Him who will not work, let him not eat."

In a matter of months, millions of American workers lost their jobs as President George W. Bush's economy spiraled into a deep recession. Now these people are being referred to by the Republicans and Tea Sippers as "too lazy to work." They would like us to believe that millions of Americans all decided they didn't want to work at approximately the same time. I believe most would love to have a job, as was the case under President Bill Clinton. With a balanced budget to boot!
Let him not eat? I have a different vision of America than that.

Not quite sure what the problem even is.
1. No religious group is being asked to pay for services against their religion.
2. Nobody working for a religious group is being forced to do something against their religion, they still have the choice.
3. Not all women use contraceptive solely for birth control.
4. Fighting against birth control, a step in the against abortion, seems to be counteractive.
