First, you clearly emphasize the opening statement though you continue the full quote which shows the context. Then you drop all the context while framing the candidate in the way you wish the electorate to view him. Eventually dropping the "very" from the "very poor" so you can paint him as insensitive to the 46 million that are now on food stamps because the Democrats undermined the economy in 2007-2008 when they took over both houses of Congress and Obama was busy repaying his Wall Street donors in the next three years to actually do much about the economy other than to blame it all on his predecessor.

That's what happens when you post an opinion piece from Slate as "news" on cbsnews.com

Really? You even have to ask? Obama was smeared as being aloof during the 2008 elections, but I never really understood why, other than the fact that he was articulate and gave good speeches. Romney, if you pay close attention during his non-scripted Q&A sessions, stutters and falls all over himself before getting snippy and defensive whenever put on the spot about something he clearly doesn't want to answer. I think it's pretty clear that Romney wins this by a landslide.

How are we supposed to maintain the status quo in this country if we pump out articles like this?...we're undermining the Left vs. Right puppet show! Author needs to reconsider his honest critisim of these crooks...don't wake the people up, you just might start a revolution.

Mitt Romney is definitely more aloof than Obama. In his speeches and debates, Romney hardly makes an attempt to connect with the average American voter. And, his stances on the issues underscores his strong focus on representing and supporting American companies and millionaires and billionaires first -- and the rest of Americans, second.
