Gingrich's comments are as disconnected from reality as he is disconnected from the working class population. He represents no-one of with any IQ. He is not worth the time it took to comment on his worthlessness. The only explanation for the current political circus, is that it is written, directed and produced by the same people that produce the World Wrestling Federation. There can be no other logical explanation.

There was a time when a man could work a full time job and support his family. Then the wives had to go to work also, to sustain the same quality of living. Then they had to work multiple jobs. And now the neocon solution is to have our kids work as well? All so the richest 1% can make even more money by doing even less? Enough is enough.

One of the main forces that destroyed living standards for Wage Earners and Social Security Annuitants was the Reagan / Gingrich destruction of the COLA / CPI which has caused about a 2% cut per year compounded since 1981 that has taken a huge bite out of our Income and the Economy in general.

Hey Newt, if drug trafficking is our CIA's top money maker of choice (besides war), how can we blame some little hopeless kid in the ghetto for doing the same thing? He's only being resourceful, you should hire him.

How dare you Mr. Gingrich. I was born in the Bronx, NYC, and I grew up in a poor neighborhood. I had many African-Americans people that I looked up to in the community. They inspired me to get out of proverty and live in a house of my own. I dare you! You need to get your heads out of the clouds Sir. I have never been to jail. HOW DARE YOU!

When you listen to the atrocities this guy talks, definitely he is the epitome of corruption in America. His arse and mouth are so well coordinated that listening to him is like stepping on a piece of a cow pastel of sh*t. If people want this crap, God let it be. Ignorance is bliss.

In the college where I work, the kids with the WORST work ethic are the children of the rich. The college students from poor families on scholarship are working a few jobs and going to school full time. The children of the poor show up to work on time and care about getting fired.
As a supervisor I loved having the students from poor backgrounds working for me because I could depend on them to do their job. The rich would throw away a job for a hangover.

Gingrich is living proof that porcelain can be part of the human body -- after all, he's got a mouth made out of it, as all toilet bowls are. And like all commodes, his sometimes gets backed up and overflows with stinking, filthy sewage -- like his "comments" in Iowa.

Oh, wait -- maybe his is the wooden variety, like an outhouse's.

Newshound100c says:
Mr. Gingrich is making assumptions based on his own prejudicial attitudes toward "the poor" - as though all poor people are in that condition because they deserve to be - either they are lazy, or drug-addicted, or "illegal," and willing parasites on the society HE lives in. He is in denial of the fact that there are millions of poor kids whose parents are working more than one job just to put food on the table and pay the rent, but can't work their way out of poverty no matter how many jobs they hold or hours they work. Those kids have examples of a very strong work ethic at home, but many see that such hard work doesn't pay off for their families, who can't afford health insurance or other necessities taken for granted by those like Mr. Gingrich. Working as janitors' assistants, cleaning up their schools, will do nothing to assuage that perception. Furthermore, the way out of poverty for many of them would be higher education - which will be much more difficult to achieve if they are cleaning the hallways and bathrooms instead of studying their lessons.

And what work ethic do the children of the wealthy learn? Most have everything they need or want without having to lift a finger to work for it.

Until this society returns to an ethic of honoring honest work over greedy money management schemes, many of these kids will be lost - as will our way of life. Unfortunately, we have come to the point of allowing money to be the measurement of success and self worth, regardless of how one attains that wealth. We used to say that anyone can be president, but money, and our attitudes toward it, have so corrupted our political process that only the wealthy can even run for office, much less be elected. And most of those elected representatives have little in common with the rest of America, and even less motivation to represent us. And once elected, they are in the pockets of big money interests.

Welcome to Newt's world.

Does a single mom raising a kid on $7000 to $12000 per year in the 1980s count as poor? I think so, but I am tired and dont feel like looking up the poverty line for that decade. pretty sure though. assuming it is, i was raised poor by a single mother. we never took welfare or food stamps, though i kinda wish we had since i'd have eaten better and got better clothes to wear.

my mom worked her whole life, from age 16.

i have worked since i was 13.

F you Newt.

Newt Gingrich has a pathological hatred of the poor. No matter the severity of their plight, he offers nothing but unbridled "abuse of the poor" as his solution to America's problems. At the same time he wants forgiveness for his multiple marriages and his illegal lobbying. He is the most dangerous hypocrite in America, today! He is the political equivalent of Father Coglin.
