You're right. John McCain was doing so poorly amoung his own base that they needed Sister Sarah to energize them. But those were the ONLY votes she got McCain - just the far right base.

So she did'nt really help him much.....except sparing him the embarassment of not having the support of your own party. And even that was'nt a hugh success but in all fairness, it was perhaps more due the fact that the republican party was and still is undergoing a hugh transformation and Sister Sarah's failures were overshadowed by the failures of the entire party.

A majority of Americans believe that Sarah Palin is resigning as governor of Alaska not because it's in the best interest of her state but because it will benefit her political career, a new CBS News poll finds.

Like it or not she DOES have large numbers of supporters and I'm one of them and I'm not alone! It was recently reported that her political action committee has collected over $740,000 in donations in the last five months with over $200,000 coming in the last two months!

Levi Johnston is big mouthed idiot who should be told to shut his mouth! Even IF Sarah did quit because she couldn't handle the job, or if she quit to further her political career or whatever her reasons for quitting, they are her business! If she wants the world to know why she quit, then she should tell us, not Levi! He is speaking out of line! It's none of his business and he is not helping her career by running his mouth! I think he knows that and that's why he's doing it! He's just being spiteful and trying to get revenge because he was kicked out and his visits with his son are supervised and controlled. He knows that telling family secrets is a good way to bring the Palins down and he probably thinks that by doing so, some judge might grant him more access to his son. Either Todd or Bristol's big brother Trac need to have a serious talk with him and tell him to either shut his big mouth or they are going to stick their fist in it! One thing is for sure, they are going to have to get control of Levi and shut him up if Sarah is going to have a career in politics! On the second thought, though, considering the kind of man that Levi is, probably all they'd have to do to keep him quiet is wave a wad of money in front of his face!

How could the 'left' (or anyone else for that matter) feel "the left is afraid, very afraid" of this quitter!! hdc77494, what on earth are you smoking? She's a joke and most of us know it! And by the way, I'm NOT on the left! SHE is the main reason McCain lost in Nov.!

No, John McCain lost because of one person, John McCain! He refused to fight to win! He refused to use all of the tools in his war chest to win! For one thing he refused to run attack ads! He ran a pitiful weak campaign! He also refused to state exactly what his platform was. In the debates he gave a very vague and weak description of his platform. Even though I am a proud, conservative republican and I voted for McCain/Palin, I was very ashamed of McCain's performance in the debates. Instead of coming out swinging and giving clear direct answers, McCain just seemed like a weak, sick old man. Obama was much more robust and gave much clearer and more direct answers, even though I didn't like the answers he gave. Obama stated his platform clearly and McCain did not. If it hadn't been for Sarah Palin, I truly believe that John McCain wouldn't have received nearly as many votes as he received! She kept him from being a complete washout! I believe in the debates when people got a chance to see them side by side, people just took one look at the slower and much more elderly McCain and the younger, more robust Obama and they chose the younger of the two! I don't think Sarah Palin had anything to do with McCain's loss, in fact she helped him!

I also think that another thing that hurt McCain was the fact that he was not so much of a "maverick" but just plain unreliable and unstable! He did some very strange things during the campaign like suspending his campaign when the financial crisis hit to fly back to Washington. I thought this was a smart thing to do at first and I defended it. However, I have thought about it since then and I now see that it was not so smart! I also thought at first that he was really going to do something when he got back to Washington to help the situation. I was sorely disappointed! He basically did nothing but just sit and listen!
by birdyspice July 16, 2009 12:14 PM EDT
you're retarded again. it was determined that the mccain/palin campaign were the main perpetrators of attack ads while obama/biden did not follow suit. it was sarah palin "taking hte gloves off" and mccain accusing obama of so many things. obama stayed away from this high school tactic and won over voters overwhelmingly because he appeared to be the most intellectual, mature candidate. sarah palin was busy boring everyone with william ayers and obama being some so called friend to terrorists while she was a part of the secessionist party back in her home state of alaska. the leader of that group she likes so much died in a plastic explosives sale gone bad cause he was gonna fight to gain independence even if it meant bloodshed. that leader named joe vogler said he hated america and wouldnt be buried under her flag. he once worked with iran to go to the united nations to help him have alaska secede from the union. THESE are the people sarah palin hangs around with. no one was gonna listen to that old bag that lies about selling jets on ebay, bridges to nowhere, and truly loving america when all she ever really wanted was to make alaska its own country and be its president.

"Only 33 percent of Republicans questioned in a CBS News survey released Monday night say that Palin would have the ability to serve effectively as president. Last fall, 71 percent of registered Republicans felt that way."

67% of her own party thinks she is qualified for President? That would mean that overall only 25% think she is qualified if you add democrats. Perfect! There you have the next Republican chosen one and darling of the right wing talk show hosts for President. No really, I will vote for her in the primary in about 4 years from now that way the Republicans are sure to lose and we can take back control of our country from the wealthy who have hijacked it under the Republicans and stolen our money, businesses, and in some cases homes.
Sarah Palin for President 2012!
I love the 4 year campaigns we have now don't you?

THAT, is the advantage of being a true pathological liar, one doesn't realize it!

Fortunately, the VAST majority of Americans do recognize what she is!

Only a small part don't, and they're not likely to figure it out!

Hockey hunk-turned-political pundit Levi Johnston doesn't think his baby's grandma Sarah Palin could handle the White House: She can't take the heat.

"She's very smart," Johnston told NBC Monday morning. "But I just don't think she can handle the stress level as governor - I don't think she can handle it as President or vice president."

Levi Johnston who lived with the Palin family spilled the beans, Sarah Palin is "gold digging" at this point, looking to cash in on her popularity. For Sarah Palin its not about public service anyone, if it were she would never have quit, its clearly about getting paid without the restrictions of being Alaska Governor getting in the way. Charming lady but that's about it.

Sarah Palin is a public figure, not a private citizen yet, so its not just her business, its our business. Also, Levi Johnson was there living with the Palin's and you were not, he just repeated what he heard Sarah Palin say from her own mouth with his own ears, so Levi being a idiot as you call him is irrelevant. If you and the other Sarah Palin supporters want to make the Palin's rich by throwing your money away that's your business.
by birdyspice July 16, 2009 12:07 PM EDT
ladypirate is an absolute idiot. she is actually criticizing levi for wanting to see his son more often when one of the biggest problems we have in this country are men not caring to see their children enough. my god.. i cant even describe just how many ways you're a complete idiot and how absolutely terrible the palins are for NOT wanting a child to see his father. wow.... you need some serious help. levi was being shown off on stage by sarah when it was good for her pretending to care about family values then shoved to the side when it didn't serve her purpose. he is nothing but a guy that wants to have contact with his son. it took him going to the major news outlets to have some leverage against the governor who has used her office more than once to settle personal vendettas. we all know that she makes her enemies live's hell if she wants.. levi had no choice but to use whatever means necessary to ensure he could be a part of his son's life. you're actually dfending palin for keeping his son away from him and criticizing levi for wanting to see his son? get your head checked.
