She admits that personal prejudice affects her decisions, and touts that as a GOOD thing??

Well said! Excellent post.
by gravyboat4000 July 12, 2009 5:01 PM EDT
Nah, it was a stupid post. Sessions is grandstanding here. He's,"flabbergasted"?

Yet, if you ask ANY Judge, they ALL use their personal experiences when making decisions on the bench. How can they not? They are not robots, they are HUMAN beings. Judge Alito elluded to as much when he was nominated.

This is just a rallying cry by Sessions, to make the Republican base, (all 27 of them), feel good about themselves.

------------

Shocking. It's just astonishing how quickly the loony left will discard the principle of impartial, equal justice, in their mad dash to pursue their cynical partisan political agenda.

The Democrats have already lead the way into the new dark ages by handing $50 billion of our money to a big greedy company like GM during the worst recession since 1940. They have already tipped their hand with Madoff, another Democrat and the perpetrator of the biggest financial fraud in history.

We are headed for a new Dark Ages, thanks to these cynical Democrats on the loony left.

When a Republican administration basically suspends the Bill of Rights and the laws of the United States, that's not a problem, and he worries that Sotomayor may not follow the rules of law - what a hypocrite.
------------
Seems like the "hypocrite" accusation works both ways.

Sotomayer is the one who wants to abandon our Constitutional principle of equal justice, preferring instead to let different judges make different decisions based on the same facts, based purely on their personal prejudices.

THAT is hypocrisy. If Sotomayer gets on the Supreme Court, every ruling will be tainted by her racist bigotry. It will be the beginning of a new dark ages.

What does Sotomayer think about Elian Gonzales?

Remember him? The little boy from Cuba who was taken screaming from his family's home by Clinton's storm troopers armed with machine guns, who kicked in the doors and stormed the entire house?

Maybe this photo will refresh your memory:

http://www.moonbattery.com/Elian-Gonzalez.jpg

That's a Democrat administration enforcing a child custody order.

Machine guns and screaming, terrified children.

What does Sotomayer think of that?

That will be, what, next month?

There will be blood in the streets.

When the liberal druggies can't afford their fix anymore, imagine an entire city of liberals going through withdrawal at the same time.

Obama nation!

OBAMA = One Big A** Mistake, America

I voted for Obama. I am totally appalled by what I got.

It was the first time in my life I ever voted for a Democrat for president. And it will be the last time.

This is absolutely appalling and outrageous. This woman turns our entire principle of justice upside down. What she describes is injustice, but in the Obama nation injustice is called justice.

I, for one, will NEVER vote for a Democrat again as long as I live.

I will NEVER make this mistake again.

They couldn't be doing any worse.

And I SERIOUSLY doubt McCain would have picked Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.

It is truly amazing how nonchalant the left is about such a racist bigot who turns our every principle of justice upside down in pursuit of our political agenda.

If she thinks different judges SHOULD reach different decisions based on the same facts and law, then it means we have no justice. You just get whatever decision you want by shopping for a judge who has "personal prejudices" that suit you.

Is this justice? No, of course not.

But the Democrats have become so cynical and partisan, they don't care.

We are truly headed into the dark ages if a racist bigot like Sotomayor gets on the Supreme Court. Every ruling will be tainted by her anti-justice philosophy.

"In a number of her speeches, for example, she has advocated a view that suggests that your personal experiences, even prejudices ? she uses that word ? it's expected that they would influence a decision you make,"

Unlike Republicans apointees to the Court, who are solely motivated and influenced by the wishes of their corporate masters, who employ creatures like Scaila, Alito and Thomas to figure ways to render their criminal actions not-quite-technically-illegal, no matter how much they steal or who they harm.

You would perhaps expect Judge Sotomayor to have the mind-set of some patrician blueblood who's a couple of chromosones short due to inbreeding and who got through the finest schools in America by being a 'legacy' ala G.W. Bush?

Those people do not have mindsets...only deeply ingrained prejudices and the absolute moral certainty that their stealing, war profitering and other reprehensible, often treasonous actions (as in the case of Bush, a chronic failing neer-do-well who was appointed to the Presidency by a partisan Supreme Court)

The Neocons consider the taking of such liberties their God-given right.

After all...the Almighty is also on the payroll...right?

Sessions said: In a number of her speeches, for example, she has advocated a view that suggests that your personal experiences, even prejudices ? she uses that word ? it's expected that they would influence a decision you make," he told "Face The Nation" host Bob Schieffer./ To quote a teenager...DUH! Of course, personal experiences and even prejudcices affect judges as they affect all human beings. To say they don't is to say jusges are not human and lack human feelings.

Sotomayer is a racist, sexist bigot, and Sessions told it like it is.

She is the very antithesis of what justice is supposed to mean.

It is appalling that Obama chose her for the Supreme Court.

Obama is a total failure.

Obama is the worst president in 100 years.

I hope Congress corrects Obama's error and rejects her nomination.

By her own decisions she is a racist and a sexist.A poor choice for a judge at any level. If she were a white man she would be attacked by every newsmedia in the world as a bigot.
I thought Obama was smart? Or was that just"campaign talk"?

Sessions is just another crybaby bumpkinville Fake Republican. His sorry rear never uttered a word when his Messiah Bush was trashing to Constitution and getting the Justice Dept to say "its not illegal if the President orders it".

Sessions is a freak.

This particular offense should never come before her as a SCJOTUS.

I am curious as to her position if she sat as a 'Criminal Court Justice' on this case....

"Absoposislutely" I agree 100%
All I ask her to do is go by the 'Law' when determining her brand of 'justice'. (I have my own 'brand' of justice) (but I am not a lawman or judge)

jeffstersf - there is no proof in either statement you make. She has already back pedaled on several issues. I would have rather seen her stand up for her chosen club membership than to back down when challenged, for example. Makes you wonder if the challenge was correct in its assertion.

"FLABBERGASTED"

It's the only big word he knows and he likes to use it when he gets in front of a camera.

What a loser! Y'all in Alabama sure can pick 'em.

I have to agree with jimlickster.
Perhaps the Democrats would fare better to worry less about the Republicans and more about passing sane, well written and well review legislation. Of course, if that is not the goal, then it would appear that they are succeeding.

My question of Judge Sotomayor is whether she would diminish, keep the same or increase arrests and prosecutions as revealed in the following article.

Woman charged with leaving 3 children in car

BY ERIK BADIA | erik.badia@newsday.com
12:23 PM EDT, July 12, 2009

A Brooklyn woman was arrested at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Saturday night after she left three children - one of them 9 months old - unattended in her car for at least 25 minutes, Nassau County police said today.

The woman, Nicola Daley, 37, was apparently shopping in the mall while the three girls - two were her children and the third, the daughter of a friend - were left alone in her car, police said. The car was not running at the time.

According to police, a mall security guard spotted the children - the 9-month-old, a 10-year-old and a 7-year-old - unattended in the car in the parking lot near Macy's, and called the police. The guard kept watch of the vehicle and told police the driver was gone for at least 25 minutes. About 9:30 p.m., the driver returned to the car with a shopping bag.

Daley was arrested on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor that carries a punishment of up to one year in prison. The suspect's two children were taken by their 22-year-old sister and the 7-year-old, who was not related to the suspect, was released into the custody of her mother.
