Could you imagine if in all those old WW2 movies where the tough, war weary sergeant lit up a camel or lucky strike while waiting for the enemy attack, were instead to pull out a stalk of celery or miniature carrots to munch on?

it's a nasty thing anyway... i spent 4 years on an aircraft carrier cv59... spit from chew everywhere... nasty.

The Navy is just a little nasty anyway -- not to mention the tobacco use. ;-)

Sure, like someone with bullets whizzing around their heads are overly concerned about the long term implications of tobacco use.

If a soldier can't comply with a directive to cease all tobacco use, I don't want him in my foxhole.

Obviously "enviromental_wacko" has never served in a war zone. Enough said with that comment. The government wants me to go fight a war and tells me I can't smoke???? First, tell our president that he can't smoke. Secondly, get the hell out of my foxhole, "e.r"!!!
