- Chip - Thank you for asking the kinds of questions those of us who are NOT enamored of PrezBo would like to ask. Keep up the good work and thanks again!

- Go Chip and Helen! As a former journalist, I'm appalled at the pre-produced type of press conferences and open forums this administration is advocating. What's with all the requirements? Screening for obvious appropriateness and safety issue is understandable; this is more like producing a play with actors and scripts. I'm surprised Gibbs has made it this long, but that's another story at www.EveryDayPR.net.

- Great job! This type of "retro", neutral, unbiased, journalistic question is a breath of freash air. Keep up these types of questions and not only will viewership increase but so will your creditability. Terrific!

- Reporters demonstrate confrontational chutzpah? Didn't do this kind of thing during Bush. They knew that regime would clean their clocks. The white house press corps has no credibility.

Helen Thomas and CBS's Chip Reid!!! - Reply to this comment
- Kudos to Chip and Helen! I'm so glad someone finally stood up to Gibbs about these fake townhalls. Obama's manipulation of the media is outrageous and unacceptable. If Obama cannot be challenged by questions from the general public in forums such as a townhall, doesn't have the knowledge or experience to answer the questions himself, without the TOTUS (and his prewritten answers) bailing him out everytime, then he is seriously in over his head and should not be POTUS.

- Kudo's to Chip and Helen. What took so long? Administration needs to realize they are no longer on the campaign trail. Every town hall meeting becomes a "theatrical production" carefully orchestrated, every possible detail rehearsed over and over, to assure that Obama continues with his unprecedented popularity. He is tremendously gifted; unfortunately, he is using his "gift" to solidify his personal agenda and not the agenda of the American people who elected him. He has back-peddled on every promise. His inexperience is finally showing through loud and clear and Chip and Helen are to be applauded for speaking up. Let's hope the rest of the media speaks up to this.

- Congratulations - you have just figured out that you have been duped. Now that you know you have been manipulated will you stand for it? Will you agree to the questions the night before and then ask real questions the next day? Will you ask hard hitting questions? Will you speak up when the answers make no sense? If I had to guess - none of the main stream reporters have enough fortitude to ask hard hitting questions and expect real answers. I wonder if Helen Thomas still thinks that George W. was the worst president?

- After watching Gibbs, it reinforces my opinion of Tony Snow, a true professional.

- Great job Chip! Keep it up! Makes me hopeful for CBS and the mainstream media. Hopefully, this will not be a one time event and you guys will become consistently more "confrontational".
