homophobic, intolerant, and bigoted against gays, and don't like the comparison?

Hungry,

Your ignorance and callousness toward blacks is revealed in your reply to my post... "legally" discrimination against blacks has ended in America.

Exactly what world do you live in?

The persecution and discrimination against blacks came to an end, (legally anyway).
The same CANNOT be said for gay people.
______________

Hungry,

As your post reveals, this depth of ignorance and callousness toward blacks in America doesn't deserve the dignity of a response.

I compare the gay "equal rights struggle", to the blacks "equal rights struggle", and you call me callous and ignorant because you're homophobic, intolerant, and bigoted against gays, and don't like the comparison?

What a weak and pathetic argument!!

My stance is the same - EQUAL RIGHTS for EVERYONE is EQUALLY important, regardless of the REASON for the discrimination!!

Then how come I don't have the same rights as a cripple to park in a handicap spot? How come I don't qualify for an NAACP college grant? How come I can't get food stamps?
Is that "all people being equal" ? ? ?

Slow,

Your obsession with trying to prove your point by citing examples of homosexuality in lower life forms proves my point!

What animals discriminate on the basis of skin color, other than humans?

You cannot cite examples of the EQUIVALENCE of the homosexual struggle in America to the black civil rights movement, so you divert attention to animal behavior as proof that homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice.

Sad and pathetic.

The jury is still out on that, Slow. There are just as many scientific examples that homosexuality among humans is not a genetic predisposition but a choice that can be REVERSED.

I take it you've never read ANY of the Old Testament?
- I have. I read where God made day, and night, and man, and woman, and bugs, and deer, and rocks, and rain. Never saw the part where God made Sin. I better read it again, huh?

Sounds like you are equating uncontrollable horniness with Gay - very appropriate!

by hungry1968-15 - - - You assert that being gay is a choice. ALL gays say that it's NOT a choice, = = =

Of course they would say that - if they DID NOT make that assertion, then they wouldn't be eligible for special rights now, would they?

What "special rights" are they seeking?

They are only seeking the SAME rights that you and I enjoy - equal treatment and protection under the law.

Little do you realize, but those "rights" are guaranteed to ALL of America's citizens.

If you oppose those rights, then maybe you should move to Israel, Iran, or Pakistan to live with those that share your views?

What's your obsession with trying to equate blacks and gays?
____________________________

Slownews,

There is no equlvalence. Precisely.

Perhaps I have given you more credit for paying attention than I should.

You know full well the argument I am articulating on behalf of black Americans is the exact OPPOSITE.

It is the homosexuals who have dared to equate their agenda with the civil rights movement, linking a bar fight in a homosexual village llw-down dive to the struggle of blacks in America... deeply offensive and revolting to say the least.

I'll agree with you on that, Hungry - SO FAR, it's not against the law to dis the Gay - and I hope we keep it that way! After all, nobody makes a choice to be a Negro or a woman.

You assert that being gay is a choice. ALL gays say that it's NOT a choice, and all those that oppose gays say it is a choice. Wouldn't the gays know better whether or not it's a choice?

How ironic that an alleged christian proposes and supports intolerance, bigotry, and hatred against a fellow human being, simply because you suffer from a moral superiority complex, and believe that YOU (not your god), have the right to judge and persecute people, based on a book written 3,000 years ago, by cattle sacrificing, alcoholic, xenophobic, misogynistic, murderous, slave owners.

Name the LAST TIME the jews were oppressed by ANYONE.

And then name EVERY TIME the United States has EVER oppressed them.

You're a sympathizer for the "new and improved nazi's", and you're trying to gain MY sympathy for them?!?!

Hint: It'll NEVER work. Not on me anyway.

Good responses, Hungry... always a bit hard to read, though, as all the spaces make 'em look like two separate unrelated posts!

Thanks for the Wiki link - stunning, really...

It gave Clover a much needed education, as evidenced by his non-response / silence.

The sad thing is that I went to google and typed "violence against gays", and that was the first link that came up, PROVING that his ignorance is self inflicted.

The master / slave relationship between blacks & their owners is an abomination written in the pages of history.

The master / slave relationship between gays is a "First Saturday of the Month" event written in the pages of Just Out Magazine.

No comparison there!

(Each groups struggle for civil rights have their own unique issues to address and neither one is any less noble than the other.)
