He admitted it, he apologized in public, his wife knows, his kid knows, time to move on.
This is a personal matter now and no one has any business getting involved in someone else's personal affairs even if they are politicians.
Enough already.
As for the email, when will people learn when you send emails you might as well be sending them to every person on the planet?
Now that was stupid.

And I'm sure you feel the same about the Clinton affair...

wow! he is in love with Maria more so than his wife. it will be funny as H, if his wife stands by her man now. he shouldn't get into too much trouble for playing hiding the hot dog but he should get into trouble for abandoning his job, without a trace, for a week. the state legislature should now enact some kind of law that allows the Lt. Governor to take over when the Governor disappears for 24 hours. maria and sanford are hopelessly in love like two teens which is kind of strange. being married with family is a tough life and the grass is always greener outside the marriage. hope the love letters are published entirely, need a good laugh these days.

Hey. It is taxpayers who paid for those e-mails and as a Governor that is his job 24/7. Privacy my behind. Cheating when you are a public official is a dumb as its comes for you will always get caught.

Just another sick-o GOP pervert. So on the taxpayer's dime he was fooling around, cheating on his family and the people who voted for him. This bozo needs to resign ASAP. Why on earth shouldn't we throw the jerk out like his wife did. As least she had the right idea.

Republicans are snake bit and need no opposition since Republicans continue to do a superb job self destructing. At this rate Republicans are guaranteed to be out of power for a long time to come and can't gain any traction against Democrats because of political blunders like this current scandal. Democrats can sit back and enjoy the show, as in, when your opponents are making mistakes, don't interrupt them!

I agree with 70Honey. It is just totally wrong for news media to publish these private emails. It is a totally unwarranted invasion of privacy!

from THE FACE ON THE BARROOM FLOOR

Say boys, if you give me just another whiskey and I'll be glad,

I'll draw right here the picture, of the face that drove me mad.

Give me that piece of chalk with which you mark the baseball score;

You shall see the lovely Madeline upon the barroom floor.

Another drink and with chalk in hand, the vagabond began,

To sketch a face that well might buy the soul of any man.

Then, as he placed another lock upon that shapely head,

With a fearful shriek, he leaped and fell across the picture ? dead!

Oh great. First the Republicans ruin the economy, now they are outsourcing adultery.

Yesterday Sanford was on a "hiking trip" in the Appalachia!

This morning, Sanford was going to "exotic places" to get away from the pressures of spending taxpayer money in the most BACKWARD state in the Union!

Tonight, it turns out Sanford was practicing the GOP's form of "FAMILY VALUES" by cheating on his wife and family with some HOT TAMALE in South America.

Tomorrow we will discover that this HOT TAMALE is living the good life all thanks to Sanford's benevolence with South Carolina tax payer dollars!

As I asked this morning, I wonder what those self-righteous, Bible-belting, gun-tooting rednecks in South Carolina think of their "Great Governor" now?????

I wonder if Lindsey "Slimey" Graham has been taking any trips to "get away from it all"????

HAIL OBAMA??????

Shame on the media. This is trash journalism goes way beyond the public's "right to know". And all you people with your "opinions" and self-righteous "judgements" should go get a life of your own. Don't bother flaming me - I'm logging off as soon as I hit the submit button.

So let him send his wife the mushy e-mails over non-publicly accessible accounts if he wants privacy. I find them creepy to read, but since they are evidence against him in a possible impeachment, they are now public property. Yuck! Though he did beat Prince Charles, like toldyouso told us.

This is very unfortunate. I feel sorry for this idiot. But he is definitely a huge hypocrite. Typical conservative. So what goes around comes around.

I am shocked and disgusted that any reputable news service would publish personal e-mails, no matter who they are from or the subject. All citizens, even public figures, should be allowed a minimal amount of privacy.

Deb, that's a complete non sequitur.

This guy had a "stable father" and yet he is a slimeball. This situation has more to do with the fact that republicans are hypocrites than it has to with the "downfall of American morals". Republicans preach "family values", but they don't live by what most people would consider to be "family values". This guy is just a typical repuke slime.

We've been voting the repukes OUT of office for some time now. If anything, America is finally demonstrating a RISE in morality, not a downfall! As the morals of the country continue to rise, more and more of the slime will be discovered and "run out on the rails".

Has anyone seen the other woman, not that I'm suggesting that his behavior is anything but reprehensible, I just wonder what could make a man self-destruct like he has.

"Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, yeah"

The GOP is just SO OVER! 20%, 19%, 18%... 0% coming soon! And they're doing it all to themselves! All we have to do is sit back and watch the extinction as it happens.
