Well if Bobby does as good the second time as he did the first, that should be a real winner.

Typical for the Republicans.

When you have nothing to add and are being bought off by the Insurance companies, Drug companies, AMA, the result is=== "it's not right!"

They said the same thing since 1947 regarding the healthcare issue. "Be afraid, be very afraid!" Yet they and other members of congress wallow in the gold plated, platnium, jewel studded tiara of medical plans paid for at taxpayer expense.

Want to see a change in healthcare in America? Take Congress and the Senate healthcare plans away from them and make them pay what the rest of America pays. Oh, I guarantee you'll get change, and know who will be first? Republicans.

Judd Gregg, R-N.H., $168,500
Richard Burr, R-N.C. $520,694
Arlen Specter, R-Pa. $259,699 As a Republican
Orrin Hatch, R-Utah $241,850
Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa $216,599
Mike Enzi, R-Wyo. $174,338

And just to be fair----

John Kerry, D-Mass. $304,888
Max Baucus, D-Mont. $199,000
Chris Dodd, D-Conn. $192,025
Tom Carper, D-Del. $183,794

Since 1998, drug companies have spent $958 million on lobbying ? more than any other industry, according to government records In Washington, the industry has 1,274 lobbyists ? more than two for every member of Congress.

We have the best government money can buy off. Period

Remember when ABC put on the revisionist history non documentary movie about before 9/11, when the "swatting flies" comment from Bush was flipped around to try to mean that he was concerned about Al Qaeda? The GOP was happy about THAT show, but not about this town hall meeting. I guess when it goes in their favor it is OK, but when it might not, it is unacceptable. What a bunch of whining hipocrites.

The only journalism code of ethics I've ever seen is Al Jazeera's. Exactly what code of ethics is the GOP referring to?

Good job by ABC to air this. The people in america need to know about Health Insurance and the benefits of Govn't controlled health system.
1) It will create competition with the current health insurance companies who over charge and doesn't fully cover the citizens of america.
2) the current health insurance companies in america are monopoly.
3) C.E.O and executives of these health insurance companies would no longer be able to collect hefty bonus worth millions.
4) People of american would have way cheaper health insurance if they purchase the govn't owned health insurance.
5) money paid to the govn't for health insurance would be used wisely to eliminate the deficit in america, eliminate the recessio and make america financially secure in the future.
6)You would receive top-notch health service as the govn't can't trick us like the current health companies do.
7) this is a win/win situation for americans as you would receive cheap health insurance.

1) Competition is an unfair word since insurance companies are unable to tap into a base of people to tax to keep rates 'low'.
2) Monopoly doesn't really fit here since there are several companies for businesses to choose from and individuals can pay for it themselves.
3) Your right CEO who provide a product that consumers enjoy won't get bonuses, but Politico who choose if you are 'good enough' to get coverage will.
4) This is only on the bill you pay, if anyone actually pays a premium. Govt health care will be paid by taxes from money you never get.
5) Wisely? Apparently everything to this point has left us in a great state of affairs.
6) Right.... currently I can choose which provider I go to and which hospital I want to go to.
7) No you will get the same type of insurance that people in Europe get. And if you pay attention to them you will see horrible conditions for hospitals that would never be acceptable here in America.

Take off the rose colored glasses and realize that if government comes into the picture we will all fail.
In my eyes the only solution is to stop insane awards for lawsuits (tort reform). Reduce the amount of government handling and stop forcing health providers to give care to those whom don't need it and use the hospital as their family physician. In addition allowing insurance companies to charge more for those who choose bad lifestyles.

And really do we need insurance for normal procedures? No I would prefer coverage expensive procedures (In my little mind this would be anything 500 or more).
by jsd330 June 24, 2009 3:43 PM EDT
7) you want cheap health insurance? maybe we can import it from China, like almost every other product we buy.

RAMOS1129 -- You want to know what is sad? It is your apparent lack of understanding and open mindedness on this particular issue.

Spouting "left wing dribble" isnt doing anyone any good.

RAFTERMAN (whom I commonly refer to as - RAFTERDUMMY) posed a question earlier about why Republicans dont have a plan for healthcare. My response (on behalf of the Republicans because I am one) was simply this:

As politicians, how do you want them to respond? Healthcare is good where it's at, and for this country, it's about as best it could be.

Having said that, what REALLY needs to happen (if you want a true bi-partisan fix for this) is for us to hold ALL politicians accountable. Force them to get rid all lobbyists, make them scrap pork barrel spending, make them prioritize the country's need for spending.....

The result? Plenty of money for healthcare and most likely, not one state in this union would ever be in the red again and would have plenty of money for all other important projects as well.

Stop blaming bush for everything because you dont like him. Look at the situation for what it really is.

I totally agree and frankly I am sick to death of it....GOP if you aren't with us ....Shut the hell up....If the people thought you could do anything about the mess you left, GOP would be in power, but We all saw what a mess you made....and voted you out. The real truth...The GOP don't have a plan..................

It wasn't that long ago that the polarity was reversed, and President Bush was granting extensive White House access to the Fox network so that Fox could dutifully do a fawning infomercial type thing pitching to those who fawned over Bush's rule.

So, where was all this concern for "slanted news coverage" during the Bush presidency? FoxNews did several cloying hour long pro-Bush telecasts, and I never heard a word of concern from anyone.

Again, Republicans say one thing while doing another.

"Clinton should resign for cheating on his wife!", screeched Ensign and Gingrich, while simultaneously fouling their mistresses and ruining the lives of their families.

"Pro-life!" they shriek, while denying critical health coverage to children.

Republicans...liars and cowards all.

The Republicans need to realize that under our new socialist system, the media will be controlled by the government. As supreme leader, Obama will have complete access to the media at any time he wants. Dissenting groups, like the Republicans, will not be tolerated much less allowed access to any media sources. Tonights show is just the beginning.
Just look at the structure of the old Soviet Union, you Republican Capitalist NitWits, and perhaps you can understand the progressive movement underway in our country.

You rich sons of unwed mothers are about to get yours. Pull out your wallets as your wealth will soon be distributed to the masses.

The Richard Cheney Presidential Administration used phony stories planted in foreign news outlets claiming that Saddam Hussein had WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!

All in order to persue OIL and divert Federal Treasury Funds to the Private Secter (with tax cuts) and most of all the fun of WAR, DEATH, and TORTURE!!

Republicon fascists, the kings of media propaganda criticize all that is the USA, while having ideas, no plans, nothing to offer the USA except more lies, child molestation, and southern style inbreeding.

It's unfortunate that the best argument you can come up with against Republican views is to accuse all of them of being child molesters and inbred. Ad hominem attacks are not only innappropriate, they do nothing to add to the discourse on an issue. Very childish that when all else fails you resort to name calling. Not appropriate for school children, much less adults discussing an issue as important as health care. Might be helpful to remember Jefferson's quote that "every differnce of opinion is not a difference of principle"

Go tell it to the muslim, marxist, communist, terrorist that wasn't born in this country but somehow convinced the majority of the "not real" Americans to cast their vote for him

Get real; McPain wasn't born in this country either.
BTW: "Prove" that Obama is 'muslim, marxist, communist or terrorist' or shut your mouth.

One-American

I suppose the rush to war that old Bushie organized to send us into Iraq really made you mad too. Were you out here blogging for equal air time for Democrats to use to counter-act that?

We've already had the revolt, and the people won last November. There's just a few of you wing-nuts left that evidently didn't get the news..probably Faux didn't report on it because it made the GOP look just like they really are.....
