IrishWench your mean and angry tone explains 2 things - that you were raised Catholic and the reason why you are divorced. HATER. ...........

Wrong, I was not raised Catholic, nor am I now. I'm not a Christian of any kind. You wouldn't know the reason I'm divorced, but of course that is just an excuse you are using to attack me rather than respond to what I've said. And I'm no hater. You are in fact a simpleton and ignorant which is why you haven't the ability to actually speak to an issue.

Hate to burst your bubble (actually I don't) but in all but a handful of States adoption by Gays and Lesbians is perfectly legal. In fact, even in States with DOMAs, gays can adopt the children of their partners, many school boards already have LGBT members, so that is moot as well. As for curricula being biased, what is your definition of bias? There shouldn't be any bias either way, but inclusion of LGBT issues in curricula isn't biased any more than saying Catholics or Jews or Mormons exist in curricula or even studying what different religions believe which I'm perfectly okay with as long as it isn't proselytizing.

When you have a block of people imposing their religious beliefs on you through law, then come talk to me about lack of respect. Once same sex marriage is legal, we will all see that the sky hasn't fallen and everyone is still allowed to believe what they want. The Constitution already protects the rights of Churches to preach what they want. What it doesn't allow is any one particular religious belief to be the law over others.

so you really are complaining about all other whiners because they draw attention and space away from your own personal whining?. When you have to preface your remarks by describing either agenda, affiliation, gender, race, marital status, religion or any other personal information--it is no longer about the objectivity of the article--it has become--in a very, very sad way--all about you, and why you have more of a right to be upset than those 'other groups'--add yourself to the list of people that you despise.

Nope, I'm not whining or bitter or have an agenda. I'm speaking my mind to the subject at hand. I'm fed up with it. I'm disgusted by the fact that a group of people can be so self centered and so bent on everything being about their agenda and their preferences. This country is full of needs. The President should be addressing the most crucial at this time that involve the majority of the citizens as a whole. If you choose to dismiss everything I said because I addressed my own situation (of which I have handled very well on my own without the assistance of others or making a political hoopla out of it at all, let alone every chance I get) Then so be it. That's your choice. It certainly doesn't exempt the bases or truth of what I've said.

The Gay community's is not going to be able to force this issue from the top down. If it's going to happen, it's got to happen from the bottom up. A state & local approach will have to do for now. Only after a majority of states change their gay rights laws will the Feds follow suit. Putting their resources & effort into trying to make changes in the laws on a national level is a waste of time & material. Their best bet for now is to relocate to those states that have already modified their laws.

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. If you want to leave, that is your choice, just like your lifestyle. Whichever choice you make, please just keep it to yourself. This is all getting old.

You forgot his promise to repeal the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Maybe he forgot.

Many Americans are very disapointed in the current Obama Administration and our lame Democratic congress!

no war crimes trials

still in iraq

expanding Afghanistan

no universal health care

no full support of gay rights

Americans may have to take to the streets to get real change we can believe in!

texbelle123,

"Our new president is just a Black version of George W Bush."

Your comment is exactly how most of the gay community thinks, if they don't get their way on this issue and that is part of why your effort is losing support.

Not to mention that our president (whom I did not vote for anyway) is kind of busy with some other issues, like missles being pointed at Hawaii and so, like most of the rest of America, we don't consider gay marriage as being really important at this time!

And with such weak support from people like you, then you're getting just what you deserve from the president, who by the way, just made it easier for many of you to get medical benefits.

Everyone wants to be a victim. It's sad we are in a society that we do not consider anyone else but ourselves... God help us.

Tough choice to make.
Be looked down upon by Republicans.
Be used & played for suckers by Democrats
Join a third party were you may render your vote irrelevant.

A third party will struggle for a long time because if there is one thing that Republicans & Democrats will enthusiastically work together on is squashing a third party.

Watch us go en mass to the Green Party......don't forget the so called "nader" factor. If the gays go to the Greens, that will spell big trouble for the Democrats.

Maybe the queers will wise up and realize that no one cares one iota about them and their agenda. Anti same-gender marriage is not solely rooted in religion or bigotry. It is simply nature's way that breeding couples unite and in the human species, it is marriage that formalizes that bond. I'm annoyed at the charges of hatred, bigotry, religious zeal and prejudice. There is no place for same gender marriage in society. It is not a right and that's that. If you feel sexually attracted to some one of the same gender, keep it to yourself or suffer society"s wrath, regardless of the silly attempts by lawmakers to make it okay. It is not now, and will never be, okay.

Obama really stuck it to them. In their pathetic desperation for acceptance, they clung to the hope that he would help them. Do they really think a black man would sympathize while at the same time supporting one man one woman marriage? California set it straight. No to same gender marriage. It is a revolting concept to all heterosexuals. We can't help it. We were born that way. Just remember Perez Hilton if you need to refresh your imagery of how disgusting they are.

Correct. Christians do not hate homosexuals, they just disagree with that lifestyle because it is in direct defiance with Christian morals. I want to point out that has only become a big issue because homosexuals have made such a stir, but in my opinion, true Christians should also disagree with divorce for any other reason other than infidelity. Please do not take difference of opinion as auto-hate.

Why does everyone think we then have to vote for the GOP? I think the GLBT would be better served in voting and giving money to the Green Party. This country (gay and straight) really needs more than these two pathetic, corporate controlled parties. They both lie to their so-called "groups" or constituents. Maybe the GLBT, being the emotionally charged drama queens that we are, can help lead the way to a true multi-party democracy where all of us Americans have more options to choose from. We like to be trend-setters anyway so maybe, just maybe, our straight counterparts will wake up and do the same. To go from total GOP rule to total Democratic rule in a few years, yet they are still the same, should show everyone across the political spectrum what a sham these two "mainstreem" parties are.

So what is preferable.

Being looked down upon by the Republicans?

Or

Being used & played for suckers by Democrats?

Vote GLOP (or GLIP) 2012!!
