Your implication that gays do not cheat is a load of horse crap. The perception that gays are more loving and caring for their partners went out the window a couple of years ago. There are just as many unfaithful couples in the same sex community as there are anywhere else. Not to mention the fact that have just as high of a rate of domestic abuse. so don't go blowing smoke about it.

I think it's rather ironic that Mr Ensign would "poo-poo" someone else for their indiscrections and then turn around and engage in his own.

I have to hand it to him though... unlike Ms. Prejean, he actually is making an attempt to appologize to his contituents and the rest of the American people for those very same misdeeds.

Senator Ensign's apology is suspect at best. He stated that the affair was about a year ago. Did it take him so long to 'man-up' to the public, or did it take that long to figure out his political career might be in jeopardy? As far as constituents are concerned, it's contributions and votes -- nothing else.

Most likely he figured it would be his political future... Especially if he wanted to defuse the situation before it came up in a future election.

To be fair now, considering what the media did
to Carradine, we demand specifics,,,

"Afair" is too general,,,,specifics please,,,

In a bed,,,a stair well?,,over a railing?

under a table?,,,What.??,,Rather,,"How"?

,,,one genital out?? Both genitals out??

Foreplay?,,,how long?,,,THAT too,,, but
questioning foreplays DURATION in point of time,,

Top dog?,,,Or maybe high heels, black stockings and
a whip,,,Ensign OR her?,,,OR "HIM"?

"Senator Ensign had an afair"

Ooohhh how titillating!,,,,
"Pssst, Senator Ensign had,,an,,an,,,
OH MY GOD HE HAD AN AFAIR!!"

Wont cut it any more,,,C'mon, web sites
you can do it!!

We are told repeatedly by the right that out-of-wedlock s*x is wrong. Gay marriage is wrong. Marijuana is wrong. And that those who think differently are morally CONFUSED. The GOP has made an INDUSTRY out of their moral code. They would empty out the Senate rather than let Terry Schaivo be taken off of life-support. Bill Clinton got IMPEACHED for his extramarital affair. I thought, at the time, that while morally repugnant, I didn't really have the right to peer into Clintons bedroom. IT WAS THE GOP WHO TOLD ME, AND AMERICA, THAT I DID HAVE THAT RIGHT, AND INDEED THAT RESPONSIBILITY. So, now we're all supposed to 'forgive and forget'?

You talk about double standards. Take a look in a mirror.

What the ...??? These guys CAMPAIGN on their moral values!! They shill for votes by pretending to be solid, right-thinking, and upstanding citizens. If you want us now to look the other way ('think of the CHILDREN') you are telling me that, for you, THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE CAMPAIGN STRATEGY. 'Make like a saint during the campaign cuz they'll forgive you after you win.' This guy thinks you're a chump, and you're saying HE'S RIGHT TO THINK SO.

This is not a Straight issue, a gay issue, a black issue, or a white issue. Just like spousal abuse it happens in relationships in every ethnic group and in the same sex community as well as the straight or traditional community. The commitment of marriage no longer means anything to the majority of people, male and female. There is no dividing line on this. People get married with the knowledge that if they do not like it or it does not work out, they can always have an affair, much cheaper than divorce. The divorce rates are sky high as well. Marriage used to mean til death do us part, but that generation is slowly dying off and being replaced by men and women who see it as something that is not meant to last. We need stricker restrictions on marriage as well as divorce. We need the laws back in place that give an injured spouse the right to sue for loss of affection. We need child support laws and divorce laws that make it cheaper to stay married and faithful.

I think it's the HYPOCRISY that people are upset with. It's the fact that these slimy people were telling simple minded bigoted people that THEY were going to make sure "Moral Values" were restored to this nation. They told them that NOT because they intended to do it but only to get their votes. If that isn't sick enough for you what is?

This SOB was calling for Clinton's head during the Lewinsky scandal. Now of course that it's out of the bag he'll ask for forgiveness and understanding - something HE was in short supply of a few years ago.

As usual, there's rules for the Republicans and rules for the rest of us. Guess which ones are tougher?

The dems don't run on a platform of family values, demand everyone else live up to their supposedly hight moral standards, and worship and live as the Bible tells us to. THAT is the essential difference here. Get it?

Hey Barack: This moron is straight and look what he does. And you can't concede that gays who love each other should be afforded all the rights of marriage. Who are you kidding Mr. Bigot Obama?

Um, Wasn't "I'm sorry" enough for Dems when it was Clinton being accused of some pretty abhorrent behavior? Why is it when it's a Dem doing it they get slapped on the back and handed a cigar (pun intended) but when it's a GOP they're burned at the stake?

Typical of Dems - to have double standards.

I don't care if he's sorry. The party of 'moral values' had better put up or shut up. These guys GET VOTES by pretending to be holier than thou, and all the while their tapping their cute little aid on the campaign desk. Gingrich did this AS he was impeaching Clinton for doing the same. Dems aren't saints, but I can't stand hypocrites, and the GOP is full of them. Enough already: if you're going to cast for votes by your moral superiority, then be prepared to pay for it.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.
